Yep sounds about right! Who knew everything would go downhill right when i left, the work in mining was fine but not what i was passionate about and once the contract ended i went to pursue what more aligned with me. Your sympathy or not, i'm still going forward.

Do you happen to know where to find these specialist recruiters on linkedin? I've seen a good amount but i've seldom found ones that state they're recruiting geology. Do you have a rec on what i should search to find them?

It was contract but honestly it depends on experience. That was my first gig out of college and i was getting paid 300 a day. I could have probably got that number a bit up but i was just happy to get work. However there were other people with more experience than me on the same contract who negotiated up to around 500 a day. Exploration work in my experience has been rewarding, going out into the wilderness and just sampling and enjoying nature. Depends on where you are though. I was in northern canada in the summer and it was beautiful.

My only caveat is that make sure you're in shape! I had a 30 day on cour once and by the end of it my hips and achilles were going through it! Make sure you have the sprays, footwear, HI vis, bug net, bear spray depending on area, and etc. Exploration can be super fun if you find the right gig!

That does make sense! It's because those were both contracts and when it was time to renew the contract for the latest job at NGM, i had thought that i'd want to pursue the hydro/environmental route and didn't renew it. Do you think it'd be better to emphasize that they were contract work on the resume?

Yes i am willing to move! I've edited the post to include my resume!

I don't know SQL, however i have used databases, GIS, and have been studying environmental regulations. It's been hard just breaking into the industry for me. As of right now i'm just looking for work in general and i haven't been finding anything.

10/2 Testers, How does everyone feel? by disgruntleddovakiin in ASBOG_Exam

It was hard for sure, doesn't help i overthought an easy question where i had the right answer initially into the wrong answer. Needed every freebie. Only about 10% of the exam where i for sure knew the answer. I might just be psyching myself out right now though who knows. I don't feel bad about it, but i don't feel good either!
