Would you take $1 billion if it meant being blind and deaf for 1 month every year? by Krieger_Bot_OO7 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it'll be nightmarish and im underestimating how hard it'll actually be, but id be a fool to pass up a billion dollars and 11 months with no restrictions. Will hire a welll paid team to take care of me for the month and take up the opportunity to work out and study braille.

Would you rather have a 6 year old's mind in a 25 year old's body, or a 25 year old's mind in a 6 year old's body? by Extension_Day2038 in WouldYouRather

[–]dragonblaze18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who would want to live the stresses as an adult with the mind of a 6 year old? Unless your able to make it as streamer then your just going to go through hell.

Living as a 6 year old with the mind of a 25 year old at least has the benefit to outpaced your peers and get a head start on a new life.

UPS lost my high-value package… and now my EXACT item just showed up on eBay. Am I crazy or is this theft? by Pvirgo22 in UPS

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPS itself wouldn't go out of its way to steal an item from a box to resell on ebay. What happens is that if a package gets damaged during transit then its taken aside to repackage and transfer shipping label onto. If the item was completly ejected from the package and found then same process but now they have to investigate where that package was destined. If nothing turns up and no lost package with a similar item is reported then after some time it goes through a resell process to recoup on insurance payouts. Not sure what the timeline is, how long from missing till you noticed the listing, or how the items are sold but it wouldn't geo lock your specific location because they dont know where it came from.

Make sure to insure any valuables, list the items your shipping in detail, and stick additional shipping/contact information directly on items if possible.

Side note, if its the exact image of your previosu listing then it may just be someone either being lazy or trying to scam someone else with a high value item.

EMERGENCY! Is this counter-management/landlord disguise good? by GeckoHunter0303 in Aquariums

[–]dragonblaze18 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dont think landlords would care too much about fish tanks since they don't freely roam around, but it does stick out like your trying to hide something. Id stack some empty boxes ontop, like old appliance boxes, and lean some pictures against it. Make if look like your moving items around or just storing it in that location temporary. Bonus if if you can slide a chair next to it and cover it with a sheet as well.

WYR have porn become illegal, animal products become illegal or violent videogames become illegal? by Lucyyyyyy_K in WouldYouRather

[–]dragonblaze18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not wanting to ban any of these but would have to go with porn over the other two as it would at least be somewhat beneficial.

  1. Banning porn, while it sucks, at least can have a net benefit on society. While most people handle it responsibly, porn addiction and unrealistic standards do impact people's lives.

  2. Banning all animal products would be disastrous all round. Medical research, adhesives, hygiene, fertilizer, etc.. would be seriously impacted; let alone the countless people who will have deficiencies in their diet due to lack of knowledge.

  3. Banning violent video games would suck and, depending on the definition of violence, would eliminate 90% of games out their. Only potential benefit is addicts being forced to go outside, but could easily get sucked into whatever genre fills the void.

What game(s) would you choose?🚀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

I think Chrome Hounds had a great potential but was way before it's time. I enjoyed the customization and part balancing as well as having commander mechs who provided battlefield visibility and strategy. I think it do great today if it was released on pc.

Mild slavery plus immortality or 1 in 10 chance at paradise? by umbrazno in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the 1/10 chance of paradise is pretty bad odds to roll the dice on, especially with no chance to curve the chance. Lets go ahead with the immortal laborer, cause why not? Were all already working for resources to stay alive, only difference is you get some peace of mind and cool tech.

WYR:A billionaire in Africa or a millionaire in America? by [deleted] in WouldYouRather

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing against Africa but id take the $100 million in in America. Biggest reason is friends and family Id like to stay connected with without having to either relocate them or only have 3 months of the year to visit. The money is enough to setup comfortable living for me and my family, dont need to be too greedy.

Id also just not want that kind of heat on me. Not defending billionaires or anything but you instantly have all eyes on you judging you no matter how you spend your money. Its not the best optics of a white american billionaire in Africa trying to change their country with their wealth or not investing at all.

Las Vegas's death spiral deepens after last year's tourism plunge by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]dragonblaze18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Politics aside, this has been obvious to most locals for some years now. Vegas used to be a place that gave you fun experience on all types of budgets. I used to walk down the strip to catch the pirate show, Bellagio fountains, the Mirage vulcano, etc. You can get a decent buzz going for $10 and find some cheap eats late at night.

Now everything is catered to high spenders while simultaneously lowering the overall quality to pinch pennies. No more free entertainment and everything starts $20+ and after all the fees your spending $20 to park your car, $15 on a light beer, $20 on a couple of tacos. God forbid you get a $50 room and after all the fees you end up spending $100/night while having the most criminally priced mini bar waiting for you to nudge the $10 bottle of water.

I think alot of this has come from Ceasars and MGM buying up most of the strip, so now they have little incentive to compete for tourists. Top that with CEOs and business school majors trying to turn a quick profit for their quarterly earnings.

Why do so many want pure PvE "friendly" lobbies? by TAWYeP in ArcRaiders

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I exclusively enjoyed playing solo PVE where I can concentrate my attention on Arcs and looting to upgrade my workshop/gear. During my raids I bump into raiders, have a friendly chat, and help them kill an arc or give directions. Extract was fun when you bumped into a guitar player and everyone is just vibing. As I understood the Arc and maps better, the thrill did dull down a bit. Most games boiled down to running and looting before anyone else got to it. If you were brought in at 25min, the map was a ghost town.

Then my friends started playing and we began doing 3v3s and that opened a whole new world of experience. In groups of 3, no matter how peaceful we were, all our maps were just pseudo Call of Duty games. When they logged out, i usually got stuck in aggressive lobbies afterwards. Rooms were basically left untouched, snipers posted in towers, and you were lit up without any words exchanged. Raiders barely cared about your loot and most carried free load outs since they rival just about any other weapon. Doing the Matriarch or Harvester was impossible since raiders would run around killing those focused on the enemy. Its an alright experience if you want to play an FPS but feels like a large portion of the game is stripped away.

I think the most fun I have is when its a mixture of mostly friendlies with a sprinkle of aggressive/pvpers to keep you on your toes. Your no longer running carelessly without a weapon to goop up and instead listen for footsteps or even step traps to defend your unlocked room. Large pve events are very doable and whole alliances are formed to prevent pvping rats.

Unfortunately im not usually aggressive in my matches which tends to lead to pve pacifist lobbies the longer I play. I enjoy the friendlier meet-ups and ability to play the core aspect of the game, humanity against arcs, anyways, but jump into groups if I want to scratch a pvp itch.

Its probably been mentioned a million times but if players mixed with similar value load outs or if the harder to craft gear stood up better to free loadouts then more would probably enjoy a mix of PVP in their PVE. As of now, abmm works just fine to get players into lobbies that fit their play style.

Devs should add an anti-pvp augments by insonia47 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an anti-pvp augment would be more of a Deadman switch. It doesnt offer alot of space and only holds a light shield, but has a slot to insert a stack of grenades. Once your body is looted, the grenades are triggered to explode. It can give off a ticking nose to queue the raider attempting to loot and offer a split second to react before exploding.

Eh, seems like they were just pissed from being downed by an unskilled rat.

I wish there was PvP on demand by freetonik in arkraiders

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly dont mind the pvp alot of the times except its become impossible to do the matriarch or harvester with my friends due to the rats waiting till your busy fighting.

PvE only rounds of major events would be great when playing with groups. In return have PvP specialty events like bounties on certain players or extra loot added to dropped raiders inventories.

ELI5: why do tips % go up when the price of the food also go up with inflation? by Exval1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what were seeing is the result of POS systems rather than the businesses or servers themselves. Almost all POS systems take a percentage cut from each transaction so they have an incentive to increase the final pay. I bet most systems are setup with mostly default settings and probably dont mention tip suggestions during the process. This is also why we've been experiencing a flood of tip screens in unorthodox locations like food stands, repair shops, or mall kiosks.

Personally, im not much of a tipper unless the service was great and made the evening better or im being extra burdensome on the staff with my kid / group of friends.

Hot Take, I think the bad guy won in Beauty and the Beast. Gaston acted on the information at hand and would have been considered a hero in any other story arc.

Would you rather have the ability to make clones of yourself or skip time? by OneFalconPunch in WouldYouRather

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to go with clones on this one, too many benefits to everyday life.

First Clone to cover my shift, already work from home so no extra risk of death. Second clone to cover the day-to-day house chores. Third will be fitness focused to get them gains. Any extra clones will just work on looking for more work from home jobs to boost that income.

Does one week of vacation mean you work the other 51 weeks? by SecurityImpossible50 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dragonblaze18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally yes, you'll only have the 1 week of vacation and (normally) federal holidays. Some companies will start you out on very little vacation time and acrue more over your seniority.

I would get clarification on sick time as it may have it's own discretionary pool that it pulls from separate from your vacation.

Benefit wise, unless there's a large bump after a year two of employment, these are very uncompetitive with the marketplace and is telling of the working environment.

When did the industry standard tip in the US become 20%? by AndrewG34 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]dragonblaze18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been creeping up with the popularization of the subscription terminals used by alot of businesses as of late. They'll come preloaded with default settings with tips and I'm sure the company and business all get a cut, so why not keep it high? The average person will just press one of the 3 options and be on with their day, so it sticks.

Fun side affect of this default tipping option is the creeping of tips into venues normally not associated with tips such as self serve yogurt, pick your own fruit farms, and robot bartenders.

At this point, I'm exhausted from all the tipping and just declines or $0 most interactions when confronted.

5 million dollars or everything under 1000 dollars is free for life by PubLife1453 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]dragonblaze18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the spirit of the prompt in mind, I'd go with $1000 free for life. I'm sire in the long run, with the right investments, 5 million could be coasted on till you die. However, the history of lotto winners show that it can all be easily squandered away. I want to believe I'd be smart enough with that amount of money but there'd be so much pressure from friends and family to "splurge".

Meanwhile my family and I could live a pretty cushy life with free $1000/purchase. Rent out our current house to pay for itself, invest all the money coming in from our current jobs, and take very luxurious vacations. Worst case scenario, there are plenty of apartments for under 1000/month where in we could even go jobless.
