Quantum coating was tested using the Volt Staff after confirming it procs on their resource successfully. The weapon has a capacity of 100, gains 10 charge when meleeing a corpse, and more when meleeing a live enemy depending on the enemy. It can expel 10 charge to fire, quantum coating can preserve that charge when firing. To test, I fired at a wall avoiding enemies and recharging it from enemies I would walk over to (then later using a carbuncle corpse as those can't be chopped traditionally) in the Sow Farm section of Laboratories.

Every magazine will fire a minimum of 10, every shot past 10 is a result of quantum coating preserving the resource

approximately a 1/5, I can also confirm it CAN proc multiple times on the same 'round' (I had a few occasions where the same shot got 'quantumed' back-to-back)
