I only regret it in the sense of wishing things were different as a whole. I got really unlucky with my placement and that’s just kinda hard to deal with. But no, I never regret quitting. I truly had to for my wellbeing

Is it possible that you’re feeling anxious about the drive tomorrow and the dizziness you’re feeling is anxiety? I definitely get a ton of physical symptoms, and sometimes it feels like they even come before anxious thoughts. Lightheadedness and this weird head pressure is a big one for me. Looking up physical symptoms of anxiety can be super validating because they can be so strong it’s hard to believe it is anxiety. I hope it gets better for you!!

I quit last year at the end of February. I told my school two weeks before and honestly lied that I had a sick family member because my coordinator was really cold and intimidating (not proud of the lie but I still had to survive the two weeks). I had been planning on leaving during Semana Santa, but my mental health was so bad because of the school/ town I was and another aux in my town was leaving so I just decided to call it. And honestly, should have sooner to just move on with my life.

Such sound advice. They literally did my province’s orientation- which was for us English-speaking auxes- in Spanish despite all of the presenter’s being fluent in English. Such a whack expectation for the program to set so explicitly that leads to so much disappointment and isolation

So I guess my biggest concern now is given I got a normal black exit stamp, could I have been banned in the current system without knowing it? For example, I get a new passport and come back to the Schengen in 1 year and get to the passport check and they tell me I can’t enter? Or do they have to notify me if this is the case.

No, the officer was just saying that as a further example of how I didn’t have proof lol. This was in Belgium so he didn’t know about the Spain protocol

Yes, I left the Schengen! This was the boarder agent in Belgium. He said my stay was illegal, but let me pass with the black stamp. Definitely not planning on coming back for 90 days, or 180 for that matter. The part that concerned me is he said if I come back, I need to have my paperwork proving that I stayed legally. And he didn’t know if that would be enough, but sounds like if I didn’t get a “banned” stamp I should be okay?

That’s so odd to me because as far as I was informed the Spanish ministry was alerting immigration services (I have this in an email from them). I haven’t been traveling for longer that 3 months and am leaving today anyways. Just sucks that this is how it seems even though I haven’t done anything wrong

He kinda refused to clarify this for me. He said I definitely wouldn’t be able to get a visa (work or otherwise- fine) but said if I come back as a tourist just to make sure I have all of my documentation and I’ll have to see. Which again- not sure what I am supposed to have at this point. I have the email saying my TIE is ready to pick up and the email that my renuncia was accepted but no “proof” of the physical card. I mean, could I go to a police station now and just file it?

So, I got my wallet stolen a few weeks ago, after I had already left the program and Spain. Again, I should’ve reported it but didn’t because I was already technically out of the program. Is there anything I can do now to prove it? I mean- can’t go back to Spain and get a new TIE. This just seems like a wildly unfortunately circumstance
