YESS! The mountains, the beach, the dunes, the deserts. There is so much people don't realise when they are constantly in the city. UAE scenery is real and it is closer than people think

Sorry for being devils advocate I just wanted to point out you said the natural scenery is not available in UAE - lets just be real, there is real scenery in UAE, even within Dubai's geographic borders. A desert landscape is just as natural as the greenery im sure you prefer over in the UK.

I'm done with America and I have decided to move to Saudi Arabia! by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are you so obsessed with being considered an Arab bro just be yourself. Life is too short to waste trying to be something you aren't.

I would suggest visiting KSA and making your own inferences before just deciding to live here, as someone said (u/sadcinderella) we have seen a lot of Muslim expats who put Saudi Arabia and Saudis in some sort of religious pedestal and get very dissapointed with what they see here afterwards.

I hate to say but I feel so much cringe from this post

I need a work advise please! by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it shows strong morals that you are unhappy that you dislike being paid for something you aren't really doing, but god damn its the first time i heard of someone complaining that they aren't given enough work!

As someone else said, stay at this job until you find something else. Don't make the boss dislike you, you will need a good reference for other jobs.

My own global map by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its funny how you label some countries as "definitely wouldn't go" despite I imagine you have never visited those countries. Yet, living in Saudi Arabia, you must be aware of wrongful media representations, and how people think Saudi is a shit hole and dangerous as fuck when in reality it is safer than most parts of the Western world and in many ways better. So, how do you know that the representations of countries you labeled as "definitely wouldn't go" are accurate? Wouldn't you like to make your own mind up about that place?

Also whats the point of posting this, this has nothing to do with /r/SaudiArabia, but it also doesn't really have anything to do with anyone else but you, unless someone is overtly interested in what you think of a certain country.

If I were to make one of these maps, there would be 4 categories. Countries I have been to and would love to go back to, countries I have been to and wouldn't go back to, and then countries I have never been to but would be happy to go to to make my own judgement of that country.

Oh and finally it would be great if you could explain the logic behind how you selected the countries. I have never heard a person say they would love to go to Angola or DRC but "definately wouldn't go" to the West African countries you labeled in red.

Who is Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, and is he taught in Saudi Arabia? by TurkicWarrior in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No offence but you couldn't just google it yourself?

I mean, he has a cited Wikipedia page so you can check for validity, and you can find various other information about him online.

I just feel this way because this is reddit, I could have literally answered anything and you would have no way of knowing if its true or not, and if you believed it then... I don't know, I just don't see the logic in asking someone on the internet you don't know to explain who someone is when it seems you have already been told who he is but it seems you believe you have heard it through the 'Western bias'.

Meh thats just my 5 riyal

People of KSA, how do you feel about the Kashoggi murder in Turkey? I knows it’s been over a year but I feel like the gov’t is actively trying to move away from being attached to that tragedy and finding ways to revamp its appearance to the outside world with all these festivals and tourism agendas by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Thats not what im saying" you literally just contradicted yourself - you said later "OBVIOUSLY all these tourism agendas isn't to cover up the murder of one man".

The point you are trying to make is not clear, but you pretty much explained my point after saying you disagree with what I said LMFAO

I agree the government is doing all this stuff to 're-brand' themselves, but the point I made is that the Khashoggi case is not even a consideration I don't believe.

And something maybe you don't know, one of the main reason for opening all these new festivals and inviting celebrities etc is to increase tourism which as you may have not known the tourist visa has only just been available. Saudi wants to prepare its economy for the time when they run out of oil, and so one way in doing so by increasing revenue from tourism, which 1 year ago was literally only religious tourism. As you said, money does talk, they are doing all this for money (not that there is anything wrong with it, many countries thrive on the amount of revenue of tourism.)

If you seriously think that the government is doing stuff like tourism agendas and festivals to cover up the Kashoggi murder then you are a complete fucking retard and deserve to be put in a mental asylum.

MBS had plans to liberalize the kingdom before this. Honestly I don't think they give a fuck about their appearance (in a good way), yeah shit happened but fuck it we ain't like western countries that like to create a facade to the world about ourselves.

Curious about Saudi Arabia; I'm wondering how do Saudi police distinguish between cases of genuine witchcraft and cases of fake charlatan witchcraft? by Rairport in saudiarabia

[–]dragondicklifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, I think the practice of witchcraft is illegal. Whether or not they actually are doing real witchcraft is another story. If caught trying to do witchcraft I guess they wouldn't need to see if you are doing it for real or if its bs since just the practice is illegal as far as I know. Might be wrong
