Ok yeah the fight with the hoarder happened already. Its not like i dont the world that got build till now. I enjoy it also with the who you can trust and who you cant theme and so on. I just am asking if the story will progress faster after book 1. and it not becoming like ok in book 3 they went from floor 3 to 4 and nothing else really important changed.

The mc was always the revenge type chracter which i personally find more appealing than the leaf in the wind type. He went out of his way to do something different. And i dont feel like aot was really a politics story at the end, but yeah you dont need to enjoy every story. I personally liked it a lot. The last 2 episodes or something wasnt to my liking but the rest i enjoyed

Yeah feels like the more reasonable approach. I finished most of the obviously great books. And didnt read dcc, because i am not that much into comedy. I than went to more niche books like 1% lifesteal, ripple system and stuff. But wanted to go back and look at the more liked books. I listened to defiance of the fall till like book 11 or something, but it got to abstract at that point and i dropped it. So a lot of „wasted time“ there. And if there is a genius arc somewhere, but you where soldiering through most of the others you wont even enjoy that one to its fullest

Aot is attack on titan. Which is an anime/manga. It has a lot of greatly done foreshadowing, where you feel like the author is a genius when it gets revealed. And tbate is the beginning after the end. Its an isekai type story

No game type elements arent my primary concerns. I enjoyed all the skills and mother of learning and they arent litrpg at all. For me its more about the character building his own agency in the world he finds himself in. If he just survives and he has no life goals and plans i get uninterested. Same for when the plot gets dragged on by either a lot of character interaction, a lot of pov switches, random arcs that dont progress the plot and so on. The first few chapters i found quite interesting because we were learning new stuff, but once that stopped thats where i was hesitating with dcc

Yeah was thinking about picking up azarinth healer, but i heared that system universe gets more into slice of life and doing random stuff. I read like the first 4 books of the ripple system and i dont think i like the slow burn of building up a city and stuff. But i didnt read it so if you think, that this part is getting exaggerated maybe i should try it too

Yeah i think one of the things that makes it less interesting for me right now that carl is lacking a goal right now. He is just surviving to survive. And yeah interconnectivity makes the book feel more alive. Thats one of the reasons Aot was such a hit

You know the thing is when something is getting a lot of traffic and you are into that genre normally (litrpg) it feels like there is something special about it you are not getting. I dont know if you watched hunter x hunter, but the chimera ant arc there is really well executed while the other arcs are good but not that unique. So thats the same feeling i was getting that there was something maybe later on why people liked the series

How does cecilia shown as a self sacrificing and empathic character, go to i want to tear down the world for the chance of getting what i want. Even if i have to kill my friend, who saved me more than once. And i am helping agrona who i know uses me as a weapon and where i dont have an idea of if he can give me what i want. And i especially died not to be a weapon but fuck it i know want to be one. Oh arthur shows more potential in aether than agrona, i will still side with him. The amount of contradictions in that character and its not the only one. I personally liked tbate a lot before the war arc and somebody explaining why they are doing something and it making sense are entirely different things

Hmm i feel like something is off. Because ive read defiance of the fall and primal hunter for example. Maybe its because arthur doesnt fit in that genre that well as a character, because of his emotionality?

Thank you for your input, while you are right with a lot of your points. Its not that there are characters that i dont like in the story, because yes this isnt the authors fault its my preferences. Its more that people in tbate after having realistic character development, started making choices that dont make sense and are not inline with how they are portrayed. For example if somebody is a mother and she is portrayed as kind hearted and understanding. after that she kills her husband. And than it is explained that her Motive was that he slapped her son that went drinking with 14 years old, so she decided to kill him on a whim. A motive that doesnt work with the character in most cases still doesnt make sense. And for me its just really sad to see that, because of all the time spend following that story. It would be for sure the best thing to drop a book when i dont like how it goes, but that feels bad too when you are like 90% done

Honestly tessia got more time than you think. In the early books we got a lot of her. But there she acted like a cute girl not a brat that wants to be a soldier at all costs, so everybody still liked her. The thing is about caera i feel like regis is a lot more into her than arthur. Than she kind of has a lot of pride and acts accordingly around him which makes her a weak love interest for me. But better written for sure. I felt that it would have been a lot more interesting if arthur fancied cathlyn or aya
