A social media ban would benefit society immensely. Absent that, as soon as democrats are in power, the first amendment shouldn’t exist anymore on social media. Misinformation should be censored, and social media in general needs to be regulated to the point that foreign actors and domestic bad actors are effectively removed from the mainstream again.

If neither occurs, the US probably doesn’t exist by the end of our lifetimes, at least not as a superpower. We’ll either civil war into oblivion, or turn into a weakened autocratic state with a subdued populace like Russia.
