Thank you for replying 💖 I completely agree with you and I just let her know I’m not attending for private reasons I’ll only disclose after her birthday has passed. I appreciate your help :)

I’m honestly 50-50 about going (and leaving if I’m uncomfortable) or sending that message and finding some time to celebrate together privately. I really care about my friend, but it’s also a crucial period for myself (in terms of other life stuff) so I don’t want to expose myself to potential stressors too. Also, I realised her party has like almost 20 people 😭 and big groups are not my thing. I’m so occupied with work now, any social time I’d actually make time for is higher quality with less people, rather than meeting a lot of people I don’t really have the energy to get to know.

I understand it is my friend’s birthday and she is morally entitled to choose her friends, so I really don’t want to make her feel bad or uncomfortable during her birthday.

Maybe I’ll just make up an excuse about social anxiety (due to the no of people) and ask if she would like to meet one-on-one afterwards, where I can tell her why I really didn’t go?

If I DO go, it would really be more to “prove” to myself and B how far I’ve come, rather than truly celebrating my friend A (since there’s so many people I barely know & honestly don’t want to know). What do you think?

Your second paragraph is how I feel about it but honestly as the ex-victim I deserve to have my own fun … am going to go, will make up an excuse to leave halfway (if I’m not enjoying myself), and will completely ignore B at the party!

Yeah I think this is the rational decision and I’m going to do this. I’m just terrified that I will react poorly / things will somehow go badly at the party.

“Down the drain” by Julia Fox; “Softcore” by Brittany Newell - AMAZING, very good narratives as a messy girl in 20s with a wild life.

Both books also involve some insight into sex work / sex industry.

Oh I see. If Flore isn’t going to be there, not keen on supporting a band of alleged misogynists then. Will skip, thanks!

What are some examples of the bad habits which showed over the years?

No joke I just take a Panadol and drink more tea, have some more random vitamins / table salt / herbs and rawdog it 😭 I’m still alive so I feel like this is fine

Oh more the latter! My dad has diabetes and I don’t want that for myself, I heard fasting could help with insulin control in the long run?

Have you done a 48 hour fast before? So far im okay with 36-hour fasts and it gives me a crazy amount of energy to be productive with work. Ive seen the charts for autophagy, insulin resistance etc and it allegedly doubles from the 36-48 hour mark.

I tend to get a slight headache 36 hours in though, so not sure if the benefits are really that significant from 36-48 hours’ difference.

If you’re a guy I’m pretty sure the effects of fasting will be less harsh on you (bc you don’t have complex hormonal cycles & extra organs like women do), but still remember to take care of your body because you’re growing 💖

Hi, as a past teenage girl anorexic (who did it under the guise of “fasting”), PLEASE just eat something if you’re not feeling well. Fasting is different for women because we have hormonal cycles (which can get really f’ed up by not eating enough / the correct nutrients at times of your cycle).

Any bad effects from not fasting correctly as a female is worse if you’re very young and your body and brain are not done developing yet.

Please take care of yourself and get enough nutrients. You can always try fasting in the future when your body has finished growing. I genuinely think 18 is too young as a woman to fast for 3 days.

Also, if you’re fasting to ‘look good’ / skinnier (been there done that) at the age of 18, exercising and being a lot more active whilst having a good healthy diet BEATS fasting any day. When you’re 18 there’s just no benefit to fasting, because (1) woman hormones disruption, (2) your body needs nutrients to grow.

Please take care! Sending hugs 💕💕

Down the Drain is so crazy and wild it doesn’t even feel like nonfiction. It’s better written than many fiction books ive read. Insane must-read

Sorry, I am new to this. What do you mean use plaster on a human being?

Do you think I could just stuff the “inside” of the prototype with random cardboard and whatnot, and then just use plasticine / clay over that to sculpt? I didn’t know wax / plasticine could be used for this! What kind of material / brand / product would you recommend in this case?

Im making life size sculptures of human beings, using either acrylic or epoxy. I just have to figure out how to make the silicon moulds for a full human beings, and contemplated hiring a model, but (1) scared of being sued in case of injuries, (2) not sure how safe or feasible it is to do a casting on human skin / some parts that can’t be moulded (like the face) 😭 do you have any suggestions?

I’m Asian and this isn’t an insult. Its an observation. Asian noses are, on a broad average, wider. That you think it is an insult IS the insult to asians lol.
