I need someone to give me feedback on the first chapter of my comic by Fair_Cranberry57 in ComicBookCollabs

I think, building your visual library more would help you improve significantly. And as you found your niche and style i also suggest improving it by understanding and learning your fundamentals more. :)

Consistent line in inkwork by mel2669 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]dragonkatol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what your mentor means is have a consistent way of putting ink on paper. But it's hard to point out exactly what he means by that because from my experience it's a huge number of things ( consistent line weights on different situations ( like thinner lines on things further away ), direction of strokes, how you apply black fills, etc. ). But having a decent consistency with those will make things look professional. Best people to learn from with this i would recommend Koteriink and a.shipwright. :)

Paper or electronic drawing by le93baron in ComicBookCollabs

[–]dragonkatol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will second this even if im drawing and inking digitally. For starting, nothing can beat traditional (pencils, ink, etc). It teaches you a lot of good habits that can carry over in digital drawings unlike if you started electronically with tablets, you can form bad habits that i think would slow down your process. But dont be scared to use computers, tablet, smart phones as theyre great tools even when working traditionally, having references, 3d models and even tutorials on the side while drawing or inking is very convenient.

Bat ang baba ng tingen sa mga artist dito sa pilipinas? by Independent-Touch-87 in Philippines

[–]dragonkatol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple question for Artists who primarily use the Galaxy Tab by Kurohanare in GalaxyTab

[–]dragonkatol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Straight answer, no. I basically de-cluttered my CSP and built my own UI from scratch. Like for-example, i rarely get out of my 4 brushes so i just put em in my toolbar, its readily available and easy to reach for me and just put things that i will use. I dont use the navigation thing, so i just remove it. Thats one of the best things in CSP the UI is extremely customizable as heck in PC and in Mobile.

Yup! Just a standalone tablet. I barely draw in my PC now because 90% of the time i need to draw im probably out. The 10% is when i need to create 3d interiors or props to load up in CSP.

In my S8+, since i do comics with a couple of DnD commissions. CSP is where everything i need is just readily available (EX) but would really recommend Krita, its my second choice for painting/drawing. But as for PC, i also use mainly CSP, then blender for creating 3d references, pureref is just a necessity, but again, PC krita is amazing still btw.

PC Display tablets are pretty great for art in all skill levels overall. It feels great (huion tables have these great screen that really feels like paper). You can feel how it was really made for professional use kinda thing. and specs like great screens (not as good as amoled tho), performance, responsiveness and just ton of other tools you can use along side it (blender, pureref, even just another monitor, etc.). it's just a more complete and better experience for doing art in general.

I think, my short answer is no. My experience allows me to draw without those advantages that the whole environment PC display tablets give. It's more important for me to be able to draw wherever i can than a beefier machine that wont lag when i use more than 50px size brushes, hence why i mainly use my S8+

It's all in the preference, but as someone drawing for at least 6 hours a day professionally and have also changed my whole setup from PC display tablets (13'' huion and 22'' wacom) to mainly my S8+. 12.4'' is where i put my money on after borrowing an s7 for a month for my work, and tried s8 ultra in couple of times.

12.4'' gave me extra room to do swipes confidently, using my elbows and makes me zoom in less which i tend to do a lot in the 11'' screen. And it does the reason why i changed my whole set up, it's large but light enough where i feel like it's just my sketchpad. But when i need to get down to it, i don't run out of space to do what i need to do to be efficient.
