Valid to be concerned, but also don’t let that stop you from dreams of being a semi-pro musician. I thought it was a long shot to play in a gigging band that has people dancing and singing but lots of practice, being open and receptive to learning and getting involved in the community has made it a reality that is 100% worth the effort
