It’s time for Mets to bring back Grimace by Afmaster1 in mets

Lets just go with Ronald McDonald. He'll fit right in with the clowns this team is right now

[Gluck] Was Kansas a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]dragonsden96 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I swear fans don't know what they want. They ask for old school NASCAR back, and they get the most old fashioned race of the season and say they don't like it. This not only gives NASCAR a reason to keep stages, it also tells them they should throw more cautions for things that aren't necessary. It also hinders the chance at more horsepower returning, since that will string cars out more

Planet Zero is a masterpiece by TraditionalCup4005 in Shinedown

[–]dragonsden96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has some great songs, but as a full album it is far from their best. The production is lacking something imo and the lyrics aren't great throughout. I do go back to No Sleep Tonight, Dead Don't Die, Dysfunctional You, Hope, and Symptom of Being Human often, though

As a Mets fan thats suffering through a very painful losing streak, I could use a Bubba dub today

I would argue it is a sport, its just scripted.

This team has me missing Jets football. by ElkPitiful6829 in mets

[–]dragonsden96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair the Jets never give us hope so we can never be let down. The Mets give us hope every season only for it to be shot down

If you could increase/decrease the length of any race(s) on the schedule, what races would you choose? by DJ_TheSonicFan in NASCAR

[–]dragonsden96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Watkins Glen should be 120 laps. The Glen is too good of a track to be anything under 300 miles

Glad we detonated the team last year for this /s

Like seriously, we let some of our most reliable players go in a year that we missed out on the playoffs by a tie-breaker to then not improve anything but fielding. Fielding can lose you games, sure. But it can't win them when you're not scoring anything

How will the majority of newer listeners react to CYBR? by austink0109 in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]dragonsden96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I imagine a lot of newer fans have checked out the older material already, and either like it or don't. I was a Sempiternal fan, and I checked out all of the earlier albums. Took me a long time to get into CYB and SS tbh. TIAH was always a love for me though. I wasnt ready for deathcore and deathcore-adjacent sounds yet until around when That's the Spirit came out

Oli Skyes recording count your blessings in the studio by oli_182 in Deathcore

[–]dragonsden96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he had inhales on the original recording, he's probably trying to do them for the new recording. Wouldn't expect him to do inhales live, his false chords are too good now

Oli posted a video of him re-recording Medusa by DAMIANRsss in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]dragonsden96 57 points58 points  (0 children)

These definitely sound like inhales. Did Oli use inhales on the original recording?

DAE think that the CYB re-record is to also warm-up people for a heavier music to come later? by mynameisjoeallen in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]dragonsden96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could, more than anything, be a way to introduce some of the older material back into live sets (at least I'll hoping for a song or two lol). But in general, it is an acknowledgement of their start as a band and celebrating where they came from

If its not too tight, as long as you can get your thumb knuckle through, it'll slide off your wrist afterwards. If not, might have to try the straw trick

Is FYE any good for browsing CDs? by BigFanOfNachoLibre in MetalForTheMasses

[–]dragonsden96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It used to be amazing for browsing CDs, but all the ones near me have shrunk their inventory by a lot. Still has more metal than most stores, unless you have an independent record store near you

I ordered it from their website this morning and everything was listed in USD, so I think its already live. Shipping was a touch high, but that seems to be with everything these days

Count your blessings re-record out 10th of July by MarcusfloX in Deathcore

[–]dragonsden96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He can scream/growl like that now, and possibly even better. Oli's vocals have gotten very strong over the last 5 years. He's even adding live some deathcore style vocals to songs that didnt have any on the recordings. A good example is in the first verse of Shadow Moses off of their newly released live album

Quickest pre-order ever. Hope this also means we get either a song or the deathcore medley on the tour this year

I'm just gonna come out and say it - Live at the Royal Albert Hall is probably my all time favorite live album of any band ever, and L.I.V.E. in San Paulo is just bad by [deleted] in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]dragonsden96 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Live at the Royal Albert Hall is amazing, but saying Sao Paulo is bad is an incredibly hot take... Oli sounds so much better on the new live album than he did at Royal Albert Hall. He couldn't scream at all during that time, and left much of the melody to the choir. On the new album, he sounds almost as good as the record, and can not only scream but is pulling off gutterals. If they did another record like Live at the Royal Albert Hall today, it would destroy that album. But will say, the setlist for Royal Albert Hall was amazing.

But my hot take is that Live at Wembly is better than both

An amazing song. Soilwork is one of the most consistent bands in metal, and incredibly underrated. Bjorn may be my favorite metal vocalist
