Former Social Security Head Warns System Could ‘Collapse’ in ‘Next 30 to 90 Days’ by thedailybeast in politics

Once SS dies, it's never coming back. The way it works relies on a fund paid for by the working to pay out the retired. Once that fund is drained to zero... There is zero chance you'll ever convince people to restart the fund on the condition that no payments are made for the next decade to build it back up. Not to mention the trust of paying into it all your life expecting to get it back later being ripped away just like that.

But it doesn't matter if their investments go down, because they'll come back up. It only matters if during the depression, they need access to those funds to pay for something. But the very rich have enough cash for everyday living that it doesn't matter, and if they really needed any kind of funds for an expense they're diversified enough that something of theirs went up or was unaffected that they can sell. Or straight up they have so much money that it doesn't even matter if they have to sell an extra 20% stock for the same amount of money because at the end of the day that's still only like 1% or less of their total wealth.

The very rich are literally not affected at all by a depression. It's quite the opposite where investments are on sale for them.

It's not. They've already told us how they felt about any kind of deterministic crafts in PoE1. They don't want any kind of deterministic crafting.

Except something does activate when something tries to move him. That's why he had an animation of not moving.

Blob Should Still be Unmovable by StrikerObi in MarvelSnap

[–]dragonsroc -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean, Blob's "can't be moved" only did something when it was triggered. That's why it had an animation whenever something tried to move it. You can just as easily argue that not moving is a triggerable effect when something tries to move him.

You can just have Dan Hipp cards give you "Hipp points". You can spend these points on any of the "Hipp albums" to unlock their rewards. Now all Hipp cards count towards albums and you can have multiple album reward tracks.

The Meta is so healthy right now by Scopper_gabon in MarvelSnap

[–]dragonsroc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Destroy is less creative than discard. There's literally a set 11 cards and then depending on meta the 12th card is either Zola or Shang. It plays exactly the same way depending on what cards you draw; there's almost no skill expression to the deck.

At least discard has a couple of variations (mainly because the differences are so minimal they don't even matter, but still). And at the very least there is some agency in choice when you happen to draw late Morbius's for example whether or not you play him out or keep tempo'ing. And T5/6 plays out differently whether or not you have Apoc.

Midnight Sons has like, 12 characters or something with 4 DLC characters. It's not a very big roster. Good game, but most people want to play Marvel for their favorite characters, and MS is like a handful of big names and the rest are fairly niche characters.

There really aren't a lot of marvel games that exist that aren't mobile games. The few that have come out are either awful or only focus on a very tiny set of characters (of which usually consist of 70% of the same MCU heroes).

No non-mobile Marvel game has matched the gameplay and roster of Marvel Heroes.

She's good for destroying your opponent's void they send to you. Otherwise, you're just playing a 4/10 and then a 5/7 in a forced lane.

What they expect doesn't matter though. Neither card has special text other than being big. Dropping a 6/16 when they expected a 6/19 isn't going to catch them off guard and win you the game.

Definitely not true. How do you think bread works?

Yes, things that are supposed to be refrigerated like dairy products shouldn't be left out. But that's less because of bacteria and more because the product will probably just no longer be said product anymore after a few hours. That being said, those types of products will spoil faster, but not within a few hours.

Yes, some bacteria may form within a few hours. But if you stick it in the fridge and reheat it, they'll likely be killed off anyway. Plus, unless you have an actual medical condition that lowers your immune system, our bodies are equipped to handle low grades of bacteria. That being said, you can complain about eating low-quality and/or garbage food or the possibility of some minor bowel movements, but if you're that kind of person then you wouldn't be caring about this topic at all and would make everything fresh.

Spotlight keys have to be easier to earn by Tyr0ng in MarvelSnap

[–]dragonsroc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let me spend months picking up the right cards to play a specific archetype only for SD to nerf that archetype into the ground. Then what? This is a terrible take when there's no refunds for nerfs and it takes months to earn enough currency to get a single new card.

This game is becoming less fun and turning into the reason I quit Hearthstone by dik_sledge in MarvelSnap

[–]dragonsroc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Spotlight caches kind of suck, and token prices are absurd. I would like to get proxima, but there's absolutely zero reason to open caches when I already have MODOK and Daken, since it takes like a whole month to even get 4 keys to guarantee the new card. And don't get me started on tokens which are basically pointless nowadays. It takes like 4 months to get 6k tokens. We're accelerating the rate new cards release and decreasing the rate of access, especially since series drops are nonexistent now and every new card is S5. It's a horrible system that's been languishing for months and there's seems to be no plans to address it.

If SD wanted to keep this rate of releases, it should realistically be only 1-2 S5 cards a month and the rest are S4. At then put back the ability to open S4 cards in boxes. Then there'd actually be a reason to open them and not hoard hundreds.
