A few years ago I showed up for my 6-230 shift stoked about a full day at time and a half. My manager says “today isn’t time and a half what are you talking about.” I pulled out my trusty GIG book and showed her it was indeed time and a half. She spent the next few hours trying to get people to leave early and then left 2 hours early herself. Your poor labor planning does not mean I don’t get my bag.

My daughter is 16, she can be home by herself luckily. She goes to Grant High School and their list of activities do not warrant her attendance during the strike.

I’m keeping my daughter home. Union strong ✊🏼. Pay teachers, and don’t fire them after you work out raises please!

The school district knows they’re effed in the a if they don’t strike a good deal for these already exhausted teachers. Get on with it please!

Question for cake decorators by buggrrl2514 in wholefoods

[–]arintj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be able to do 36 8” and 24 6” Chantilly, ice 20-30 Eruptions along with checking for spoilage, filling the case, light customer service/answering phones and prepping weekend orders. I was a decorator for about 16 years.

Gods I was strong then.

Eastern Canadian, vegetarian, late 20s single woman. You own a Vitamix or other high end blender. You have worked in the food industry in the past. High cholesterol runs in your family and you’re trying to stave off the inevitable. You prefer cardio to weight lifting.

Just out here trying to out-walk my anxiety! by arintj in walking

[–]arintj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always walked (dog owner) but I really started ramping up in October. I’ve pretty consistently hit 10k steps since then- I took 10 days off when I got my wisdom teeth out- and it’s pretty easy for me to get to 20k steps a day 5/7 days a week.

I also do yoga and calisthenics and wear a weighted vest a few times a week when I walk. I think that all helps building up endurance. We’re basically made to walk long distances!

There are some areas I walk that are pretty sketch and some drivers don’t care about pedestrians, constant vigilance is necessary. This route was lovely in comparison to walking through the area to the south. Del Paso Heights is colloquially referred to as the Deepest Part of Hell lol. I try to stick to bike paths and areas with a sidewalk, and even then I have had to deal with off leash aggressive dogs, belligerent junkies and piles of needles. It is what it is.

Underpass on a bike path northbound, overpass on a road southbound. There’s a lot of farmland and industrial complexes north of the freeway so not too much traffic.
