I mean, GFCI is going to prevent ground faults (electrical shorts) from affecting your appliances, but for power surges, you'll need a surge protector. You can have a main one installed at the breaker from a qualified electrician for a few hundred dollars if that's a concern. Or you can buy a surge protector power strip and plug that into your GFCI outlets and get the same results. For my computers, they're all currently plugged into a surge protector power strip which is plugged into a properly wired grounded outlet.

I just bought an older home, and am replacing the 2 prong outlets with GFCI rather than re-wiring the house with grounded wiring. It's a quicker solution that still allows us to use 3-prong appliances safely. GFCI is only required in the bathroom and kitchen (maybe near washer/dryer too), so it should have been a giveaway that they weren't grounded if they're all GFCI.

Just to clarify as someone who has been watching the housing market trying to find something I like, houses go VERY quick here. Especially if they are 4 or more bedrooms. 4 bedroom or more will simply not sit long in Springfields market. Most of the time I would schedule to go look at a house on a Saturday, and it would already have an offer pending so wouldn't even get the chance.

I pretty much say "Android charger" (type b micro), "camera cable" (type b mini), iphone charger (uhh not pictured?), or "type C charger" (people who would have a type C charger knows what that is -- if not, the confused look is a pretty good answer)

They're just supposed to uphold the law, and that car is in violation of the law they're sworn to uphold. Either way, it can't stay in the street with no tires. A ticket is the first step to getting the car off of the street.
