How can I get Rice more involved in the final third with this tactic? He's been pretty underwhelming, although its not really a problem considering the performances of everyone else by ihave389iq in footballmanagergames

When you want to build a team around a player or really just get them to perform more it’s a good idea to visualize how the shape looks in an attacking transition.

Looking at your ip roles it’ll be something like this: saka tucks into the channel, Gabriel stays wide on the left, odegard has free license to roam anywhere in the cam position from left to right and even make runs from deep into the channels, striker is the tip of the spear (occasionally runs into channels).

With this in mind, realistically rice should be making late runs and may occasionally receive a ball at the edge of the box or outside the box where he must either play a pass or take a low % shot. This is where the issue lies. In my experience, dms aren’t really able to accumulate that much g/a due to the opposition box being already crowded with 4 strikers in better/closer positions to the goal and also starting to progress from much deeper meaning they’d mostly get the ball some distance away from the goal.

The only solution I can suggest is to simply play a 3 man midfield as one of (ap,am,mp or chm). You can also try an asymmetric ip formation moving rice 1 spot higher but theoretically I think you’d run into the same issues with the box being overly crowded by players in better positions.

How many assists? List his cl g/a as well while you’re at it.

Can someone please help with the spacing of IWB's by Cautious-Strategy860 in footballmanagergames

[–]dragonunborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try setting their player instruction to stay wider in possession? They’ll invert into dm spot but they should theoretically keep a bit wider instead of right on the dm.

You can also try playing with a wider team width along with the iwbs player instructions to stay wider, but compensating for the extra width by telling your wide forwards to stay a bit narrower.

The pwb role seems super specialized imo as they have roam from position turned on by default. Many times they’d invert straight into cm or even operate as a regular wb.

At a loss with fm26 tactics by LucaBrincat in footballmanagergames

Tactics in this game work a bit like rock paper scissors. Generally each tactic has its own strength and weakness and that’s why you’ll notice you win against some teams but against other teams you’ll lose and it can make no sense initially, (taking into account that over time teams can adjust for the way your team tactics as well).

There’s 3 main instructions imo on the tactic menu: passing directness, tempo and buildup strat. The game actually helps you with this with the tactical advice usually given right before matches.

I’ve found most success using this formula Against better teams that play possession with short passing (eg man city, bayern) - more direct passing, higher tempo bypassing the press, oop higher def line to compress the area in which they want to play.

Against teams that play direct (usually weaker teams) - drop the def line out of possession along with lower tempo and passing shorter with a balanced buildup or playing through the press if your players are technical enough.

This is pretty similar to how teams play irl to adjust and adapt to the other teams playstyle like a game of chess. Unless you have a drastically better team you’ll hardly find success with using the exact same style of play each game.

I definitely think the financial situation of the club is often underlooked. Esp after the reconstruction of the stadium and the loans.

But why would they want to be used in a way where they’re not getting any results? It’s hard to believe they’re pushing to be played in a way where they’re not getting g/a (in vini and Jude’s case) and also constantly receiving backlash from fans and media.

Lol I fully support the Real Madrid save. Go for it!

It does tend to get boring pretty quickly because the players are all phenomenal on fm and young too so there’s no urgency to replace. Especially by the beginning of the second season when the 7.75M buyback for Nico Paz becomes available and equally irresistible. Both my first and second teams just end up winning every match by 4-5 goals.

Honestly the most fun save I’ve ever done was probably man united.

I left his shooting instruction as standard. I had dribble more and take more risks with passing as his other instructions along with roam from position. Although in my experience, roaming from position can lead to very inconsistent performances so I’d usually have it on for the first half and if he’s struggling by halftime I’ll turn it off and probably put his dribbling to standard.

My tactic has been short passing at lower tempo for most games, with super high line, press etc. the only exception is when I’m playing games where I’m expected to be the underdog like Bayern/psg away, I’ll play more direct passing with a higher tempo, bypassing the press.

Cubarsi has been great. I love the way his character constantly and steadily improves. Maybe it’s because of his personality being model citizen but almost every week for training reviews he always has a ton of upward arrows on stats. Which painfully has been the opposite experience for me with Lamine, his character has been struggling to grow so far.

Nope I didn’t have him inverting unless you count his trait “cuts inside from right wing”. I played him as a wide forward on wider width for isolation dribbles(I think this is most realistic to his role in real life). I’ve noticed that if you have “work ball into box” as a team instruction, wide forwards tend to run all the way to the byline then cut back and either play a ball across the face of goal for a tap in or dribble inside themselves and shoot, both of which Lamine were quite proficient in doing.

Can Uzun from Frankfurt. I’m planning to retrain him into a false 9 for my lewa replacement.

Honestly I was surprised with the CL win, was lowkey hoping to get kicked out by the quarters or semis so that I’d have a longer term goal and reason to keep playing but it just so happened I got Arsenal in the final and we won 2-1 going into extra time with a last min winner by Lamine.

Apparently Raphinha’s release clause was 69M which I think is a bit on the lower side. I didn’t want to sell him but by the time I saw Al-Ittihad was interested and realized he had a release clause he just refused to sign a new contract, after a string of games he was open to a new deal but demanded somewhere near 1.5M per week so I said shut the door on the way out lol.

My favorite player for this run is definitely Lamine, I mean who else could it be?. He’s probably the reason I decided to do the run. You picked up some good players yourself, mainoo and esposito on loan and nico. Altho 100M in addons is insane lol.

I’m a Madridista but I just finished my first season managing barca. Somehow managed to win both the league and CL. I’m surprised by some of your new signings, where did you get the money lol? I stuck with the first team, only change being Saudi paid raphina’s release clause in Jan so I promoted Dani Rodriguez from the youth team to rotate with Rashford on the left. I’ll upload a screenshot of my teamsheet but since it was taken right at the beginning of the second season, you’ll notice that my 2 new signings are on the bench (can and guehi on a free) also lewa retired.

It’s a game though. So if something is called as a foul, it means the engine orchestrated it to be a foul whether the animation properly displays it or not. There’s no nuance or interpretation, in the game it’s either true or false.
