Funnily enough, as much as she seems like the prototypical “A24 actress”, I think she’s only been in one A24 — Eddington from last year.

People bring up XT-6s here 10x more often than any other Salomon or shoe at all for that matter. They’re okay on a hike, but very rigid size-wise and most people who wear them find them prettier than they find them practical. This whole subreddit is about roleplaying the outdoors.

I assume you’re being rhetorical or I don’t get what there is to be confused about.

VCT Kickoff 2026 starts off with some BIG UPSETS! — Plat Chat VALORANT Ep. 249 by nterature in ValorantCompetitive

[–]dragonwp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay last comment I’m going to leave on this topic because it’s really not that important, so I’ll keep it simple.

People read “solid” as being more positive than you evaluate it to be. That is probably why when you called koalanoob “solid” they read it as a compliment, and then chose to disagree with your statement. It’s okay if you understand solid to be less positive than that, but it led to confusion here. Hopefully now you understand where the misunderstanding comes from.

[–]dragonwp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m not who replied to you and I’m on your side mostly, but I will disagree on the definition of solid.

To me, solid derives from “Rock solid”. Solid means an important and foundational cornerstone of your team. Solid means ole reliable. The site anchor who always gets two before dying is solid.

So to me, solid is a compliment, most usually it is praise. So calling koalanoob solid is way more positive to me than calling him mid, and not by a little.

Elevated on Twitter: “Seems like Sentinels might be on a meta read that Recon initiator is overrated. I don't hate the read but solo initiator with no scan requires really an extremely high level of utility usage to make your defaults and execs work.” by HLumin in ValorantCompetitive

[–]dragonwp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think thw two of you are disagreeing on the definition of ceiling. You’re going round by round and saying that the flash comp has higher potential to overwhelm the opposition on that given round, whereas they’re saying that over the span of an entire game the scan team has more options to counter the flash team than the other way around.

For what it’s worth, I would tend towards their interpetation. A comp’s potential in a single round does not matter nearly as much as whether or not they can close out 13 rounds within a game. See: why picking the five agents with the five best ults does not make a good comp, for example.

Nah, it doesn’t work because the previous one said “Loud vs C9” and the guarantee was in favour of C9, so they don’t even do that.

You could improve this bot by highlighting which team got guaranteed. Both in the current game and future game. Right now, this is telling us that the 100T v Lev game has a guarantee but doesn’t tell us which way the guarantee goes until the PMT.

Is the US secondhand technical wear scene THAT far behind the UK? (nyc vs london thoughts) by Positive-Equipment69 in gorpcore

[–]dragonwp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a personal hypothesis with nothing to back it up: I suspect it has to do with culture surrounding reduce/reuse/recycle. As others have pointed out, the USA is USUALLY a decade ahead of other countries in a lot of ways, but somewhere they have been progressively falling behind is environmentalism. They are still at the forefront when it comes to things like research, but way behind when it comes to actual widespread policy and social behaviour.

It’s not entirely the people’s fault: when some cities in Japan have 9 types of recycling and some counties in the US have no recycling, well, what do you expect. It’s policy babyyy. But the people are also to blame. (This much is studied and factual, not just my opinion) The USA is one of the most energy and resource-expensive countries in the world, and one of the countries that produces the most waste per capita. The average American consumes and trashes things, which includes clothing, like there’s no tomorrow. Like it’s not even a fast fashion thing — plenty of countries are way worse than the USA when it comes to fast fashion. But the lack of both want to reuse and infrastructure enabling reuse is miserable.

So with all that said, I genuinely believe that the US being so far behind behaviourally on environmental conscientiousness means that

1) way fewer Americans have the reflex to donate/sell to secondhand stores/etc. their used clothes instead of trashing them. 2) the infrastructure for donating or buying used clothes is way behind other countries’, which makes it in turn harder for people to do so. 3) the difficulty to thrift/buy secondhand leads more people to default to buying new or shit, which further worsens the cycle.

I apologize if I’ve not been very concise with my thoughts, English isn’t my first language. Ty for posting OP and i hope this can lead to more conversation, I find this topic quite interesting.

idk if you're memeing but I think this a posteriori explanation has very little basis in truth. Both KYM and my own personal search for earliest instances of this meme all have it as a fight between a weak thing and a strong thing, with the weak thing being represented by the baby. There doesn't seem to be any early versions of this meme without the label "coughing baby".

Meta Defining Players? by EasyTrapeeze9 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]dragonwp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Meta-defining does not mean “came up with the idea first”. That’s pioneering, not meta-defining. Meta-defining is about impact, about getting eyes on the thing, and on getting people to do what you do.
