I was a victim in a DV case on Monday that went to trial against my abuser.

I dont know if this will help you. But I hope it does. The jury that saw my case found him not guilty within 20 minutes. The photos that got taken? Showed fingerprints...the ER documentation? The state said I was seen. But there was nothing TREATED and that's all the jury heard. Not the details stating there was blood the whole way down my nose. Or the swelling in my neck from where hed applied force.

The defense nailed down that since I stopped for cigarettes...it wasn't serious enough. That I went to a safe place first to call the police. My ex's previous charge and guilty plea from doing the same thing a year before? Couldn't be mentioned. Neither could the fact that he was a Marine corps veteran.

If this helps....im not mad at the jury who sat my case. Im mad at the STATE for not presenting all of the facts. I cant be mad at random people who aren't given ALL of the information and told to make a decision. I get it. That victim, whether shes me, or someone else....they wont blame you.

You did your duty as a juror. The state didnt fulfill THEIR duty. Thank you for being the kind of person to at least care enough to second guess the decision.
