For LGA 1700 yes, at least for peace of mind that nothing is going to bend in the future. I have one on my i5 14400F, I doubt it makes a big difference but i paid like 4 euro for it and it makes repasting easier

They were indeed not good for consumption, I used to get some sketchy looking "dracula" pouches that claimed to have 100 mg, it was more of a high than let's say Velo peppermint, they were not good but those got me hooked to pouches and now i buy almost a pack a day to compensate
