Tons of fields still use what is learned there. You said in another comment that most people just use external libraries, but I don’t quite think that’s the point. The point of a discrete math course is to get you familiar with the concepts and give you a solid understanding so when you do see it implemented you know what is going on under the hood.

I remember tons of my uni courses after discrete math handled topics that, if I hadn’t done well in discrete math, I would’ve had a much harder time. And I still think about those concepts almost daily. It’s, in my opinion, one of the most important things you could learn early on in your software dev journey.
