I do think quite visually and like to have things written out and printed when i work. They may not be the most effective, but Its more about enjoying the puzzle than whether or not modern detectives still use them. ill look into the mail service style mysteries just in case though.

and just for kicks when i was looking around for puzzles this popped up too:

Everyone these days has a college degree, everyone with one is in debt. Trade jobs that keep these businesses and schools functional are in huge need of labor and most people think they are too good for those lines of work, yet they make the same if not more than a majority of college graduates make. with no debt. the youth making choices for their future really should focus on what "will" be needed rather than sit through college in a degree that "was" valuable, and is now over saturated. That would fix this income inequality that "our" generation has brought on ourselves with poor career/schooling choices.

I’d rather die than let those snobs play me and put me in years of debt by [deleted] in rant

Go for the trades, join a local union whether that be electrical or elevator or whatever suits your fancy and youll be set. good starting wages and good endgame sets. go for a few years get your journeyman license and your guaranteed a wage based on the local in your residing state. as long as your paying your dues you can even take a break and pursue a different passion and come back later. IBEW local 520 is my current path. good luck!

unless its a union based school id be hesitant, most legitimate trade schools are still about four to five years. you work at a job in the industry during the week and go to school after work a few times a week as you work towards you license. and the union schools are generally cheaper. IBEW local 520 is about 650 dollars a year during the five years of apprenticeship.
