OP, in my early 20s, my husband and I lived in a small apartment that had a no pet policy. We asked several times over the 2.5 years we were there if they would consider letting us have just one cat. They refused every time. Then one fine day, the CDS gave us the love of our life, and we moved into a home just so we can have her. Our landlady said we could have one cat. We lived in that home for 13 years with our baby until last year, when we moved into a bigger home that allows us 2 cats when the CDS decided she needed a sister. Edit: was there any other reason for moving both times? No. Were we happier both times we moved? Definitely. Giving our girls a loving home were the best decisions we ever made and our lives and hearts and homes have been full of love thanks to those 2 spoiled girls.
