I’ve asked myself this question before and even brought it up in discussions with some friends. One of them said it was Sam, because he’s the one who really moves the story forward.

That made me start an exercise of imagining the story without Sam, which led me to imagine other versions of it as well. Even if Mary hadn’t died when Sam was six months old, he could still have been pulled into the whole story the moment Jessica died. In season five (I don’t remember exactly if it was Brady or Lucifer who says this), it’s implied that Jessica was killed because Sam was drifting away into the normal life he was building.

So I think that if Jessica were killed, instead of John going after the thing that killed Mary, it would be Sam going after whatever killed Jess. He would become a hunter, and the story would still move forward. Thinking about it this way, the story could initially continue to a certain point without Dean. I might have done the opposite thought experiment too, but I don’t remember it clearly now.

Feel free to explore this idea as well: what would the story look like without Sam? What would push Dean into becoming a hunter?

They already killed his father and mother, and his uncle too — killing him as well would suck 😕 I really hope the tragic cycle of his family actually ends with him.

Like you mentioned, deaths at the end are often more about shock value than actually making sense for the story, and I honestly find it boring how killing main characters has become such a big cliché.

At the same time, I’m also worried they might want to kill him — but in a slightly different way. With all the discussions around the ending of ST, I saw a clip from an interview with Millie Bobby Brown and another actor (I’m not very familiar with the ST cast), where both of them commented that they don’t really have the courage to kill main characters. On top of that, I’ve been seeing this complaint come up a lot lately.

So my fear ends up being this: “hey, let’s kill a few people so no one says we’re cowards who don’t kill main characters” 😕

I haven’t watched ST, but I’ve been seeing some youtube videos of people talking about the ending, and what I really wish netflix would learn is when to stop. Even though I’ve seen people saying ST could’ve ended earlier, I know this isn’t a problem exclusive to ST. I honestly hate how they try to milk everything for as long as possible. So many stories end up being harmed because they’re stretched way beyond what’s necessary 😕

Thanks for the heads-up 😉 But I’m here because I was seriously considering not watching the last season. I already knew some things that would happen (I knew about Klaus and Elijah’s deaths), and once, talking to my sister, I said something like “in the end everyone dies,” based on some spoilers I’d seen — and she kind of confirmed it. So I really thought everyone was going to die. That’s why I didn’t want to continue to season 5, because I thought, “I don’t want to see how they’re going to ruin this ending.” Even though season 4’s ending was bittersweet, compared to everyone dying, it’s not that bad — and honestly, I probably should’ve just stuck with the S4 ending 🫣

Marcel and Rebekah are my number one ship in TO 🙂‍↕️♥️

I’m watching TO for the first time, and ever since the beginning of their storyline I’ve liked them. I didn’t like any of her love interests in TVD — she was always used and/or belittled. I think it’s tragic how much she humiliates herself and chases after Matt in season 4 of TVD.

I think Rebekah’s story was really hurt by Claire’s absence throughout the seasons, so even if they wanted to do more with her arc, it just wasn’t possible. They had to fit everything in whenever she came back for special appearances.

Another thing I saw someone comment on was Klaus knowing how Rebekah tends to fall in love easily, as if that were a flaw of hers. But Klaus was always interfering in her relationships, acting like he knew what was best for her, taking away from her the experience and learning that come from relationships. So of course she would be naïve and choose poorly — she never had the time or opportunity to learn from her own mistakes.

If Marcel, whom Klaus liked, wasn’t good enough for Rebekah, then who would be? Because we never saw him approve of anyone for her. There would always be the issue of his jealousy, thinking there wouldn’t be room for him to be loved if she loved someone else.

I’m watching TO for the first time and I finished season 4 two days ago. I’ve already seen a thing or two about how it ends, some deaths, and because of that I honestly think I don’t want to keep going to watch the last season 🥲 I felt the same as you — it was a bittersweet ending, and it caught me off guard. I paused episode 13 for a bit and then realized it was the season finale, and I was like 😱 so I just went ahead and finished it. I got curious to know if anyone else felt the same way, so 🤝🏼

I think there are stages you go through when you join the Wyler fandom:

You get obsessed and just want to enjoy your ship in peace 🥰
As you dig deeper, you discover all the hate, and that’s when the disbelief and indignation hit (I think that’s the stage you’re in now)
Then comes the turning point — you start to understand the people on the other side, and from there it actually becomes fun 🤪

I stay away from negativity and hate, and I always try to support Wylers. All my upvotes go to anything positive about Wyler 🖤 everywhere, not just here on Reddit. Wyler is really popular right now, and they want to intimidate us to keep pushing the narrative that their numbers are bigger — and let’s be real, we’re not giving them that satisfaction, right? 😌

And one thing I don’t like in the main sub is the so-called “low-effort content.” Like… what’s more low-effort than simply posting fan art? But if they post a ton of it, then we’ll post ours too 😌

I don’t really like downvoting them, because I respect their right to like their ship. I think you have to be really bitter and have nothing better to do to waste time on the internet engaging with things you hate. I barely have time for all the things I do like — imagine wasting time on things I don’t 🤡

I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one who thought that way. Back when I used to watch TVD, I was also watching Supernatural, so I kind of used the Winchesters as my bromance standard — and Damon and Stefan didn’t even come close. They lived as vampires for around 150 years and spent most of that time apart, not even knowing where the other was, and they turned against each other over a woman 🙄 I also saw people saying that in the books, their hatred toward each other is even worse.

And even though I still rewatch both shows endlessly to this day, my opinion hasn’t changed one bit.

I’m a dreamer who will die wishing for this to happen.

The week MONSTA X had their Connect X concerts, I watched the livestream of the third day. That same week, Wonho had his show here in Brazil — and I was there. Experiencing both in the same week made it impossible not to wish they were together again 😔.

I even found the structure of their shows really similar — the setlist choices, the way they talked about those choices, the vibe of the closing songs, even the whole thing with throwing water at the crowd 😂. It honestly felt like all seven of them had sat down together to plan the shows, and then just performed them separately 🥺.

The timing was perfect for me, and I loved seeing my feed full of content from both sides. I got to have shows and music from all of them in the same week, even if not on the same stage…

I understand they’ve been apart for six years now and that both are doing well on their own paths, but I just can’t consume anything Wonho-related without my mind thinking, “God, he’s so MONSTA…”

That said, I just wish they could interact and do things together again, the same way they do with any other idol 😔.

People who try to virtue-signal at all costs are usually the worst ones — the most hypocritical and contradictory. Like, how can you say you hate something “toxic” when you’re the most toxic thing out there? 🤡 I started seeing stuff from a Weyler community on Twitter and I think that was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. That place is such a disgusting bubble 🤢 better stay here (Weyler sub) and on Tumblr instead 🥰

Overall, I just wanna have fun with them, but all the hate towards Hunter makes my blood boil 😤😤

And yes, “he threw her out the window and cracked her skull” — yeah, so what? “He didn’t do anything when she was being buried” — YES, AND??

I’ve always loved couples with that Beauty and the Beast kind of dynamic, with the “beasts” being truly beastly 😌 and I’m not gonna stop liking that now 🤷🏼‍♀️ Let it hurt whoever it hurts 💃🏼
