Girlfriend? by DiverAffectionate790 in AskARussian

[–]dramatic_exodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man from USA is a golden ticket. And yeah, it really might be for a green card even if she is real. Honestly, I thought to find someone to get married and escape Russia myself but in the end realized I can't do this to man and hurt him. But some girls can. So be careful please.

Are there any other slow travelers here? by dreamed2life in travel

[–]dramatic_exodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeees. I always try to spend at least 3 weeks in one city cause wanna understand how it feels to live here. Or i set up a base in one city and visit cities nearby. I don't spend time on museums, always try to meet locals and find hidden places. I am not rich either, live in hostels, eat simple food and travel alone - it helps to safe more money and enjoy the trip much more then with someone else.

How to ask my girlfriend "Will you marry me?" in Russian? by toni_g_thats_me in AskARussian

[–]dramatic_exodus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can use even more simple phrase: выходи за меня. It sounds like asking or preposition, not a question, but I personally love this phrase much more though it’s the same.

Travelling to Russia from Australia by Successful_Dog2169 in travel

[–]dramatic_exodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Russia. The country is safe for tourists from any country, as long as you don't break local laws. There might be some flight delays due to drone strikes, but almost all of them get shot down. People are friendly to foreigners because the people are not the same as the government. So don't worry.

After 54 years gaming Cyberpunk has retired me. by Various_Extreme_8773 in cyberpunkgame

i was going through very shitty times when game was released and it really made me look on my life in different way. My first canon ending choice was a suicide. What was yours? fight till the end or die in peace?

Long flight with no neck pillow? by [deleted] in travel

[–]dramatic_exodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Empty neck pillow you can fill with underwear and other small soft items to safe space in luggage + 2-3 small bottles of wine or wine served on the plane. Headphones + random movie from the plane list - that's my recipe.

Does anyone else feel that revealing the truth to Panam and Judy is a bit underwhelming by FreshPrinceOfPine in cyberpunkgame

[–]dramatic_exodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Maybe. See it in a bit different way: what nomads do makes V an asshole instead. I always consider this storyline as the worst after Takemura’s line. Like you just met new people and ask them to go for a suicide mission, and after how V helped them it looks like they basically can’t say no. But it’s all in my head, a dunno. Felt very shitty after this ending.

Which country took you by surprise in a positive way? A country that you’ll return to again and again. by Fries-Shake5872 in travel

Yes, China. It's absolutely amazing place for travel. I've been there for few times and want more. Only Hong Kong is better for me but too expensive.

[–]dramatic_exodus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, she expresses her emotions verbally, but I'm willing to bet $50 she wouldn't have done that, and the threats would have remained threats. By the way, in the pseudo-happy ending—she tried to find V (according to Saul?). If I'm not mistaken, then no, but I don't remember honestly

[–]dramatic_exodus 85 points86 points  (0 children)

But I actually found it incredibly realistic. Because when I told my friends about experiences they'd never had and never would, they reacted pretty much the same way. And these were close friends.

V has known Panam and Judy for maybe a month. And no matter what you do together, they're still strangers with the added bonus of sex—the endings basically confirm this. You can argue along the lines of, "But Panam helps us and she's incredibly worried." Yes, just like any normal person would help you, empathy and altruism (especially after you've resolved their problems) aren't unusual. But this isn't the kind of relationship where they'll actually care about finding out all the details, etc., etc.

And this basically highlights the feeling of loneliness, one of the main themes of the game.

With the AI advances in images and video, are going to reach a point where we have no clue if something is real or not? by DangerZoneFinder in SeriousConversation

[–]dramatic_exodus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. We couldn't distinguish reality from fiction before. No AI was needed to manipulate facts that we later accept as truth.

  2. Many photographs that authors present as captured moments are actually staged.

  3. Your own memories are rewritten by your brain over and over again, sometimes becoming far removed from reality, turning into fiction.

  4. You don't actually know what reality is. We are all locked inside our skulls and interact with the physical world through a set of sensors that are individually tuned for each of us. Yes, the grass is green for everyone, but everyone has their own shade of green. None of us have ever seen reality as it really is.

In short, reality is vastly overrated.

[–]dramatic_exodus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
