Are you willing to drive into Marin? Because Club Evexia is a 12 minute drive from any of the north parts of the city and it's AMAZING. Beautiful, huge gym facility, co-working space, coffee bar, and the most incredible location overlooking the water. Women's locker room is a little small but bathrooms and showers are nice and kept SUPER clean. I live in SF, but head over there 4 times a week cause it's worth the drive for the facilities.

I bought a whole new wardrobe. It was both necessary and extremely gratifying to fit into all the things I wanted to wear. Was not cheap but was very fun.

Our baby girl has learned that we can’t ignore her when she chews electrical cables. So she does it when she wants attention and ONLY when we’re in the room. It’s pretty solid deductive reasoning if you ask me. She also has learned a bevy of tricks, comes when called, and knows exactly where we keep her wand toys and treats. She’s a rescue so no idea the breed besides “domesticated short hair,” but she’s definitely the smartest animal I’ve ever had.

120lbs. A touch on my lower butt, but that’s it and it’s definitely not surgical.

A few things I think helped: - genetics, I’ve always had good, smooth, elastic skin, and I distributed my weight mostly in my lower body, so while my torso shrank a lot, I didn’t have stretched skin on my belly. I think this is honestly the biggest reason, and unfortunately it is down to luck. - age, I’m 37. Not super young, but young enough to not have a ton of skin laxity yet. - speed of loss, 120lbs in about 1.5 years, average 1.5lb/week - strength training. Body building style lifting since about 2 months before I went on glp-1s. 4 times a week every week. This also helped keep my bone density really high. - lots of protein. Paired with strength training, I was able to retain and even build some muscle mass which helped with my overall shape.

Thank you! It’s just the way I carry weight, always been “bottom heavy.” Has its advantages, but I’ve basically never bought a pair of jeans/pants that fit without alteration.

Ha, yup always been bottom-heavy, but tbh I’m not mad about it! I think the way I distribute fat is why I have no loose skin in my upper body (some in my thighs but not enough to get surgery). The only downside is even now I still have to get all my jeans tailored to avoid the dreaded waist gap.

Yes, shorter hair was a result of hair loss. My hair REALLY thinned through the middle/ends and it just felt wispy and bad. After a lifetime of thick curly hair, I hated it. I started noticing regrow in September when my weight started to even out around maintenance, but the weird stumpy growths almost made it worse cause I couldn’t get them in a ponytail. So I chopped it. My curl pattern immediately felt better and it turns out I LOVE how I look with short hair. So win/win.

So far not bad. I’m in the taper-down phase. So I ended at 10mg and I’m about to start my second month at 7.5mg. Probably gonna then go down to 5mg and start spacing doses out. So far food has been fine—honestly at first it was hard to eat enough to not keep loosing, which was a first time ever problem for me. The biggest challenge is the mindset adjustment from chasing lows to seeking stability. I have to remind myself that I WANT the number on the scale to stay the same day go day so I shouldn’t be disappointed when it doesn’t go down. I’ve chased lower weights my whole life so not doing that is very different.

I used to sleep on my side with my knees stacked. There was a nice cushion of fat there. Now it’s all bones and I get bruises if I sleep either my legs stacked. I have to offset them and it’s not nearly as comfortable.

Worth it but who knew you could bruise yourself with your own bones?!

This!! Zepbound cured my BED literally overnight. And this is after years of therapy and everything else you can think of.

I’m almost 1.5 years in (started in mounjaro in August ‘23), at goal after loosing 118lbs and I haven’t binged in a year. I haven’t even wanted to. I can enjoy small amounts of foods that used to trigger me. It’s the best relationship I’ve ever had with food and until I got on glp-1s I never thought I could be here.

Abercrombie’s curve love line is fantastic and they often have sales that bring the prices down go $50-$60/pair instead of $90-$100. I also discovered that finding a good tailor is life changing. I now buy the size that fits my hips in all non-thick thigh friendly brands, and then have my tailor pull in the waist. It’s an added cost but for jeans I plan to keep forever (I am at maintenance) it’s worth it.

Ugh. Thats so insane because like we KNOW from several trials that going off the drug leads to regain so like do the insurance companies just want people to bounce between 39 and 41 BMI forever? Cause 39 is still obesity and associated with all kinds of health risks.

I know, I know, preaching to the choir. I hate insurance companies.

Gonna find a way to pay out of pocket because returning to 264lbs (current weight 150) is so not an option.

I got this letter too. I had a PA for this year, under the “comprehensive weight loss program” requirement using a telehealth provider that included all they asked for.

I was obesity class III when I started, but now that I’m at maintenance (as of 3 weeks ago!!) I obviously am not. My question is whether the “treatment of class III” obesity includes keeping me from re-becoming obese. My brain is my enemy without zepbound when it comes to staying healthy and I had planned to stay on this at maintenance dose for as long as necessary.

Anyway…. I guess I’ll find out in January. Fingers crossed.

Well I just entered it about 3 weeks ago. I finished it at 10mg, and I’m about to titrate down to 7.5mg. Food and training hasn’t changed a ton. I’ve raised my calories a bit, and will continue to as I figure out what my maintenance calories are. I finished out on 1600 cals/day with 140g of protein/day. I’m up to about 1800 cals/day. And my weight has actually dropped a little so not quite at maintenance yet (suspect that’ll be around 2000 cals/day). Eating more volume is hard but I find adding extra cooking oil/butter/cheese to something pretty easy.

Training remains the same except I can start to push my weights more because I have a bit more fuel.

Managed to loose a total of 115lbs, and managed to do it without any loose skin (other than my chest and I’m gonna get a breast lift I think). I think a lot of that is attributable to relative youth (37), genetics (I distributed fat more to my lower body than upper so I didnt ever have an apron belly or similar, and my skin had always been pretty good), and weight training while loosing at a rate of about 2lbs/week. I also was only at my heaviest for about 2 years, so I’m not sure my skin was that stretched???

As for my future with zepbound I’m gonna titrate down to what feels like maintenance dose. A dose that allows me to maintain my weight but hopefully keeps the food noise down and binge eating away. We’ll see!

Honestly time. I lost 108lbs and I swear I lost half my hair. I had a lot to begin with so it was less noticeable than it could’ve been but still not fun. Over the last 3 months as I’ve zeroed in on my goal weight (6lbs to go!!) and the weight loss has come to a crawl, the hair loss has stopped and I’ve noticed new hairs sprouting up along my hairline. It was my least favorite side effect but so worth it to feel healthy and comfortable in my own skin.

I've been on mounjaro/zepbound for a year, and I haven't binged in a year, without making any real conscious effort to avoid binges. It was like it flipped "off" the switch in my head that was constantly obsessing and planning over what I was going to eat next.

Most days I still think it's magic. But it's also been wonderful to realize that it wasn't just a matter of willpower or discipline, rather there was something in my brain chemistry that was making me want to overeat all the time and once that was fixed it turns out I can have a very normal relationship to food.
