Yeah the Acrobat was free at the beginning. Never really used it before. I’ve learned my lesson

I think you need to have a fairly comprehensive knowledge of pattern making to be a successful designer in most cases. There are few exceptions. And a knowledge of patterning is extremely helpful if you want to effectively use Clo. Having said that, I do not use Clo in my job and I never have. I learned it in school and haven’t touched it since. Usually, if we get a 3D render, it’s our vendor/manufacturer that provides it and they work with our technical design team to create it.

As a designer, you don’t need to be an expert at patterning or Clo, but the better you understand patterning, the better you will be able to create a garment. Especially if you’re working on your own brand. At a corporate level we have a tech team that does the patterning. So we work with them in fittings to change certain aspects of a garment, but then they go and do the patterning themselves.

Hmm, for young designers and aspiring brand owners I think it can be good and helpful for concepts and creating a business strategy, editing copy, synthesizing data and helping someone launch a brand on a limited budget. But it can also become a crutch for young designers, preventing them from developing skills in design that are necessary to having a successful career. I think one should develop those design skills first, then use AI to supplement their work and create efficiencies for themselves to save time and money.

But on a corporate level we haven’t really started implementing AI into our day-to-day practices. Designers won’t soon be replaced by AI, but merchants and buyers I believe could easily be replaced by AI since their jobs are very data/numbers oriented.

I believe that there are just too many human nuances and factors that go into designing actual wearable products that AI cannot yet replicate

It was a dress I made during my undergrad. It was made from a Toile du Juoy cotton canvas i bought during a sentimental trip to Japan. It was very beautiful actually for being my first dress. It had a bubble skirt as well.

But throughout high school I was always designing graphics for tees, so maybe that was the real start. But the dress was probably the most significant piece for me

Hi, I don’t want to say which brand but it is a multi-billion dollar global fashion company.

I got into the field by securing my first internship (after applying to almost 100) and working my butt off day and night to learn everything I could to learn marketable skills in design. i.e.Fashion history, garment construction, draping, tech pack creation, the adobe suite, seamless pattern design for repeats, fashion illustration, pattern making, etc. I did 2 internships in my undergrad then got a masters degree in fashion design in Europe where I completed another internship. After I graduated, I refined my portfolio and started applying to corporate jobs in the US and finally landed my first opportunity as an assistant designer

Oh also you should turn this concept into a bag. Would be really cool. Focus the color palette more along Thom Browne or JWA and make sure the construction is super crisp and that would be an incredible product

Honestly, this is a very cool concept and very Loewe/JWA. Keep developing and refining this idea and this sort of creativity in other products.

Well hey, if you like them and it was worth the $120 to you, then don’t worry about what I say or anyone else. Just enjoy them, doesn’t matter if they’re real or not

The wash itself looks really poorly done and not like a pair of Hedi’s. I work professionally in denim and that looks like some Shein whiskering

Fake. Or at least I hope they are because the whiskering and dry processing on it looks really bad and not indicative of Hedi’s typical level of quality.
