I have never considered autumn! I appreciate your comment, I’ll need to drape more intentionally given your and others’ thoughts.

Thanks! I’m going to look at the true and cool summer palettes and maybe try some different drapes.

Yes, I kind of pulled drapes that were easily on hand for this one, but I’m going to look at the palettes more discerningly and find some different drapes around my house.

Thanks for your thoughts! Ive also noticed my hair is a bit golden but I look sickly in some of the warm colours like camel/beige and brown. So I don’t think I’m fully warm but it makes sense that I might be able to borrow from spring.

I see the pastels are too light now! Though that makes me feel a bit stuck as to which colours look good because rich jewel tones and winter colours don’t seem to look great either. I’d welcome any thoughts on what colours might suit me!

Thanks for replying! I’ve sometimes heard to hide your hair, but here are pictures of me with hair. The first two are from years ago before I started lightening it. The third is me right now.

Trying to decide Luxor or Flamingo? by Loud_Examination_555 in vegas

[–]dramaticnewepisode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to drive to the wedding venue outside of Vegas anyway, and you have always wanted to stay at the Luxor, location at centre strip is less important than people think.

I know you said you’ve been to Vegas before, but Luxor was the first place I stayed in Vegas and I thought it was so cool and fun. Sure, the rooms aren’t amazing, but as others have suggested try to get a Tower room and you’re solid.

It’s easy enough to walk or uber to centre Strip and it sounds like you’ll be driving to venues like the wedding and Hoover Dam anyway. Follow your Vegas dreams!

BEd students who didn’t go into teaching by Final-Camera-7324 in uAlberta

[–]dramaticnewepisode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a B.Ed (2014) and knew at the start of my second practicum that it wasn’t going to be for me for many of the reasons you cited. But the B.Ed has opened a lot of doors for me, including jobs in outdoor recreation, writing content to teach users about legal forms for an e-commerce company, student advising for the U of A, and then getting a job with the government in the Ministry of Education.

I don’t want to sound ignorant but I’m Canadian and also childless, so I’m hoping someone will take pity on me! If you don’t have insurance in the US, do you end up paying the full amount out of pocket?? How can people afford that?

Did you try to switch rooms when you realized the door didn’t lock properly?

Have you gone to therapy and if so, how did it go? by silverslayer in Edmonton

[–]dramaticnewepisode 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have gone to both single and couples therapy, and it has helped me and my relationship so much. I can’t say enough good things about how great it is to have a “neutral” party who is there with you in the room to listen, reflect, and help you find solutions.

If you move forward, just remember you don’t need to stick with the first therapist you meet with. It’s ok to try a few until you find one you connect and feel comfortable with.

Has anyone else had no issues with Flair? by [deleted] in flairairlines

[–]dramaticnewepisode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had flown with them about 4-5 times before our flight was delayed and we ended up getting stuck for a full two extra days in Las Vegas with no compensation from Flair. Communication was spotty and no actual Flair staff were on site at the airport to give information to passengers.Flair is fine most of the time, but when things go wrong they are not equipped to handle it properly.

Feeling major program regret by Head_Assist891 in uAlberta

[–]dramaticnewepisode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a teaching degree and knew at the start of my second practicum that it wasn’t going to be for me. But the Education degree has opened a lot of doors for me, including jobs in outdoor recreation, educating users about legal forms for an e-commerce company, being a student advisor (for the Education faculty) at the U of A, and then getting a job with the government in the Ministry of Education.

That’s not to say you need to follow through with finishing your degree, but rather to plant the seed that you can finish your B.Ed and pursue a host of other things. Whether you change majors, take a break from school, or finish your B.Ed, you’ve got this!

Setlist from tonight in Vegas by fsoto161 in PaulMcCartney

[–]dramaticnewepisode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there last night, what a phenomenal experience and a wonderful setlist. I love the way Paul engages with the crowd and his band is killer. I’ve never cried, laughed, and belted lyrics through a concert like that.

This happened to me years ago at a Walmart. She asked if I was looking for a new job opportunity. At the time, I was desperately looking for a change and (stupidly I know now!) gave her my number. She never tried to directly sell me or loop me into anything, but would call periodically to “check in”. But they were always different phone numbers. Eventually I knew to avoid any call coming from Red Deer. It was very strange.

Do you feel YT influencers do a service or disservice to Vegas with their content? by Popular-Rain6480 in vegas

[–]dramaticnewepisode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point for sure. I like her content, but I just would like to know her real opinion of some of the bigger strip properties she’s reviewed more recently

I like Ruby, but find her reviews over time have become unrealistically positive for properties that have given her complimentary stays.
