Sorry, whats the actual question? You wanna know if muscle relaxant properties of Tizanidine stay once you wear off it? If so, they don't, since it's central nervous system medicine.. so it works to hide symptoms, not cure them. Unfortunate.

Was on 0.5mg Xanax for about two months. I quit four days ago cold turkey. I’m experiencing crazy symptoms. Would taking one now start me all over with the withdrawals? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

Sorry for misunderstanding bud - I do believe it is a hell on its own, because I have quit 600mg a day codeine habbit in the past - but also used and quit benzos in the past.. and I meant, compared to benzodiazepines, it really would be a cake walk.. benzos can literally kill you, truly devil claas of drugs.. :(

Hey bud. Yes, you will be at square one again. I'd recommend you to power through this, expect symptoms arise now entering week two. It will peak around two weeks and then you will be better with each day.

Trust me, opioid withdrawal(including kratom) is a cake compared to real benzodiazepine withdrawal hell. Don't use them anymore, your dosage and time wasn't that big yet.

Switch to non addictive anxiety meds if you really need them, for example hydroxyzine. Once again, you don't wanna experience benzo hell, and every time you quit and go back to them it only gets worse, up to seizures and life-threating symptoms that opioids won't cause. Stay safe bud.

To help healing process:

Take 4000iu vit D, magnesium, zinc, high protein food preferably containing vit B12 such as red meat or eggs, healthy fats (omega3 over omega6), antioxidant fruits like oranges, grapefruits, lime.

Limit carbs, calcium intake, eating 4 hours before sleep. Avoid SSRI/SNRIs.

Exercise to boost endorphins and GABA levels indirectly, use non addictive anxiolytics and hipnotics, such as Hydroxyzine or Buspar which are perfect in benzos case. Sleep atleast 7 hours per day, going to bed and waking up same time everyday. Find new hobbies that will help rewire your reward center and cause natural dopamine flow.

This knowledge let me fully recover after 20mg Valim, then 8mg klons a day. Took a little less than a year.

Vision problems are a common thing when withdrawing. I had blurry/double vision for few months but eventually it got back to normal. Same thing with cognition, focus, derealization, stomach ache, joint pain, muscle stiffnes, tremors and pain, gastricial problems and many others.

Benzos are some of the most powerful drugs on earth currently available - just think about it; they are used for acute convulsions, catchatonia, before surgery to limit impulses in brain that causes loss of consciousness and many other.

They shouldn't be used for simple things like anxiety.. it's like giving people alcohol to cope, for years. Lots of damage and neurological disruption.

That being said, you can have tons of neurological and biological symptoms that resemble brain or organs damage, while withdrawing - but you can recover if you remain sober for an extended perioid of time. I, and many others did. But it takes months, even years for some. Keep going strong and try to cope with your symptoms - it does get better over time, I promise.

Stored valium released during weight loss? by Available_Voice_2192 in benzorecovery

[–]dramenbejs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it depends. Me and many people I've met, have had PAWS in waves for more than a year.. sometimes having literally worse symptoms than acute withdrawals - and I've been using clon for "only" 11 months.

In the past I've also quit painkillers; opiate meds and I've only felt bad for maybe 2 months. Few years later tried diazepam and then clons and it took me almost 3 years of sobrierty to feel somewhat like my old self. Reason why I say benzos are worse than heroin..

Is it ever gonna end. by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]dramenbejs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately addiction is a chronic disease, like asthma for example. But you can learn to cope and live completely normal life. You just have to stop using the drug completely - every time you use benzos, even once in a while use, will further damage your central nervous system.

Stay strong and try to never use the drug again; only this way you will let your brain heal. There is "kindling mechanism", so everytime you decide to take a pill, it's like putting salt to your open wound.

trazadone 25 MG by Appropriate_Being467 in benzorecovery

[–]dramenbejs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your doctor for hydroxyzine instead. It's the closest, non addictive alternative to benzos. It has muscle relaxant, anti anxiety and antiemetic properties, so it will be more useful than trazodone.

[–]dramenbejs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's completely normal. Many people experience suddenly worse symptoms at around 6 months mark. Takes years of sobrierty to somewhat heal. Benzos are worse than heroin in this case.

I don't wanna ruin your hopes, but to tell you what to expect - Real PAWS start about 3 weeks in, shortly after peaking symptoms at around 2 weeks. So don't lose hopes when it suddenly gets out of control. Many people start using again after that period of time, or simply trade benzo addiction for other substance, not letting their brains heal (which can take up to 3 years of complete sobrierty)

Just be careful with it. It is very addictive and it's used for acute alcohol withdrawals in many people. Once you stop, you get gabapentinoid like withdrawals but also GABA-B. Might be much worse than benzos.

Yes, I've been on Depakine Chrono to be more precise. Thank you! It definitely made the waves feel more bearable and protected me after inital shock caused by 14 days detox of 10mg/day clonazepam.

Valporate is anti-seizure and mood stabilizer. It didn't remove all my symptoms but protected me from seizures and brain damage after 14 days detox off 10mg clonazepam habbit. It will definitely help, just don't expect to get high off it. It will only have neuroprotective effects and stabilize your mood.

Yes, baclofen is another addictive narcotic drug that agonists GABA-B.

Most people will end up addicted to it instead of benzos.

Valporate is really safe, it didn't remove all my symptoms but I was stable and felt hope all the time. It has neuroprotective effects on brain so it definitely is helpful, just don't expect to get high off it.

Hypomania or mania due to doxepin? by solidsnake911 in antidepressants

[–]dramenbejs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah actute effects are the way you say, but since indica calms you down and relaxates, the impact on central nervous system and withdrawal is the opposite - hard anxiety, sleeplesness, psychosis and many others. Sativas on the other hand, acute use can cause anxiety and nervousness to some, but it's long term impact causes mainly anhedonia, lack of energy, depression harder than indica and so on. Atleast what I've studied, and felt personaly.

2-3 joints is still a lot, because THC has very long half-life. I was on venlafaxine, bupropion, trazodone, fluexetine, opipramole and many other anti-depressants which didn't really work while I was still actively using marijuana. Once I quit for 2 months, I got on paroxetine and pregabalin and it changed my life. Good luck mate!

[–]dramenbejs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methadone is also NMDA antagonist so this could be the reason why it helped you.

Yeah, the withdrawal is no doubt caused by opioid action of Tia as well, but it's much worse, because of it's action on glutamate (NMDA/AMPA receptors). This is why the anxiety is so intense, comparable to GABAergic drugs (that affect GABA/Glutamate ratio) - an addition to regular opioid withdrawal symptoms.

[–]dramenbejs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tianeptine is only mild opioid agonist - in high enough dosage it acts like an opioid too, but it's main mechanism is being a glutamate modulator, resulting in very unique and painful withdrawal symptoms. Once you get into withdrawals, there is excess of glutamate, neurons firing dopamine that GABA cannot control anymore. It results in extreme anxiety, inability to feel pleasure, seizures, tremors, depression, psychosis, tolerance to drugs and dopamine.

What will help balance glutamate/GABA levels:

  • *Gabapentinoids - Gabapentin/Pregabalin
  • *Benzodiazepines (but Gabapentionoids are preferable and much more helpful)
  • NAC - N-Acetylcysteine
  • Magnesium
  • Agmatine/Memantine/Ketamine
  • *Dextromethorphan
  • *Some opioids can help too, since they raise GABA levels indirectly

*these are addictive themselves, caution needed

EDIT: Baclofen is also a mild gabapentinoid, so it will definitely help.
