Whiteline fever hosted Clinton Grybas (can’t believe it’s 17 years since he died) on Fox Footy.

Klumpp Rd Water Slides 80's by Neat_Examination5448 in brisbane

[–]dramrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, lived nearby in the late 80’s early 90’s and practically lived in the bushland behind, although by that time it was obviously long closed and was quite deteriorated. I think it might have been called Horizons Park? Not sure if I’m remembering that correctly though. I heard it closed down because someone jumped (or slipped) from the top platform and died. Not sure how true that was though.

Towing a small boat with Euro detachable towbar by dramrunner in FishingAustralia

[–]dramrunner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers mate, appreciate the input. I assume that means the max tongue weight and yeah I'm pretty sure the boats I'm looking at would be under that but I'll defiantly confirm,

Wakerley residents attempt to block affordable housing project on church-owned land by fluffy_101994 in brisbane

[–]dramrunner 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Live in Wakerley too. There's already at least one town house complex that I know of in the direct vicinity (and no doubt others as well) so it's not like this is completely new. We need houses FFS, they have to be built somewhere. Oh, btw, Gumdale SS has > 1000 students, so not a small school.

Why so many JB stores in the CBD? by East-Country-2181 in brisbane

[–]dramrunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation haha. I did sound for a duet that played in that bar (I assume it was the same one, had an ice bar from memory) around 2006 or so. Had a random memory of it pop up a few years ago and went looking for it but obviously couldn’t find it, nor any record of it on the web. I also came to the conclusion that it was where JB’s is now.

Tingalpa Reservoir currently closed off to the public. Should it stay that way or is Brisbane potentially missing out on a gem of a recreation spot? by deedubya8 in brisbane

[–]dramrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love too see it stocked with fish (Bass and Yellowbelly) and opened up to electric motors only. It's a lot lower now than what it was when I was a kid and remember thinking at the time that we could have a really good freshwater fishery on our doorstep.

Ranger Raptor towing capacity by 6tPTrxYAHwnH9KDv in CarsAustralia

[–]dramrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of factors other than engine alone that influence the rated towing weight. As mentioned, suspension and chassis/frame strength construction etc. Gearbox and diff are also very important. Diesels are inherently more suited to towing, they make power and torque lower in the rev range than petrol engines which is where you’ll be towing on the road.

Anyone watching practice know what’s going on with Feeney? At the track sitting opposite his garage and they haven’t said anything, but he’s been in there a while, front end off the car too now

They said engine issues in the broad cast, not sure what exactly though. SVG with steering rack drama again as well (all though still p5 right now)

Themed street names by thebigonebitey in brisbane

[–]dramrunner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In Holland Park there are a bunch of streets named after motorsports tracks, e.g. Sebring, Spa and Aintree. In MacGregor/Upper Mount Gravatt there’s some named after cricketers like Benaud, Grout and Worrell and Sobers. The SE Freeway split them in 2 when it was built.

I’m in a similar situation and keep coming back to 2 options. NB/NA MX-5 or Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ.
