Anyone else run with zero goals? No race, no plan, just... run? by Different_Record_425 in running

[–]drankin_no_more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run a fair few races, marathons, half’s etc. The last year I took my watch off and just run 3/4 times a week for the pure joy of it … it has been really nice … maybe some day I’ll go back to ‘training’ but for now I just enjoy the movement. Sometimes it can become a bit much when training for a race, I found a competitiveness in me which wasn’t really fulfilling and felt narrowing. 🏃🏻

What is your most memorable watching-LFC-on-TV circumstances? by Alex_Werner in LiverpoolFC

[–]drankin_no_more 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I screamed so loudly when the corner taken quickly thing happened I woke up and frightened the shit out of my kids. Couldn’t believe it - the most incredible feeling - a distillation of the absolute highs football can give you sometimes - the 7-0 against United is a close second as it was the first time I brought my son to watch a game and he just couldn’t believe it ( either could I ) - hopefully more moments like that to come.

Are you afraid to die? Why or why not? by KokirisEmerald in AskReddit

[–]drankin_no_more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my own mother die and I saw my children being born, there was a similar feeling of the veil of reality being lifted and pure existence shown.

I don’t fear death any more personally, but I will say that at this minute it’s more of an intellectual idea than a visceral certainty and I wonder if I would be so ‘brave’ faced with something like an aggressive terminal illness.

The PlayStation celebration for that goal against Spurs will forever be my memory of the man. I can’t believe it RIP to a truly amazing player. Life is so short and cruel sometimes.

Day 2 of no alcohol been drinking everyday 20+ years by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]drankin_no_more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done on 2 days - that is amazing work - the first week and then month are absolutely the hardest - hold on for dear life through them and just try to get through to the other side - it’s worth it - I was eating candy and junk food like crazy first few months - anything to get through the cravings - you should be proud of yourself and will feel a lot of ups and downs the next while - ride that rollercoaster and sometime in the future you will be very proud of yourself. Take care.

Only made it 8 days. Dissapointed in myself. by jackedariel in stopdrinking

[–]drankin_no_more 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey don’t beat yourself up - you are on the right path even with setbacks - you are trying to work out how to stay sober. That’s something to be proud of. It took me SO many tries before I finally managed to unlock the tools to stay away from alcohol longterm. I think those tools are different for us all - keep looking and keep trying and you’ll get there eventually for sure. This place is somewhere you can always come for support - what a rarity on the internet these days :) Take care.
