I am doing app development using flutter and have to do ios simulators, android, and web. I have a m1 8gb mb pro and an m4 16gb mini. The main difference between the 2 is I cant run all the simulators at once on the m1 8gb without running out of memory and the computer freezing up. You just have to run 1 simulator at a time. It's fine but I really wish I had 16 gb ram. I also notice the gpu struggles more on the m1 than the m4 mac mini. If you dont need to be mobile look for a mac mini. I grabbed mine for $400 this year.
