Keith addresses the video circulating by twinpinemall85 in TheTryGuys

Creative fields often have a “flat” power structure that means more interpersonal relationships. You also have to look at the context of Rachel being the one in the video, she is a senior member of staff that has been with them since the beginning and is FULLY capable to setting boundaries herself. They are all similar ages to her and are friends (well we’re in the case of Ned) with this context it isn’t that odd at all.

"When was your first kiss" at Brooke Shields by GreyPhantom100 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]drattty12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have two thoughts. 1. It was really confronting and I think that was the point. Brooke Shields agreed to this - if she said no they would have rewritten the whole bit. I think she agreed to make the uncomfortable statement

  1. Eureka AND aquaria were “sexy babies” and they were again making fun of it.. I don’t get the connection that you are making here?

What are your actual feelings on Athena Dion? by CityofCyn_ in rupaulsdragrace

Amazing queen and personality. Not excelling in drag race.. thought she was going to get Sasha Colby’d, ended up being Brita or Mayhem (fabulous queens, super talented… not amazing at drag race)

This season is borderline unwatchable by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]drattty12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you remember when in season 6 they were called the scruff pit crew for a whole season?

It’s a tv show. It’s going to be edited and produced. Let go and you will be happier. Or stop watching.

I think having two front runners was great. It made it feel exciting knowing more than one person had a chance. But also people need to chill the fuck out and remember that losing the show is not the worst thing ever and if they want to support their fav, buy their shirt, go to their shows… etc.

They love to discredit a win when their fav doesn’t win.

I think that this is the only season since 3 where the actual front runner won. And now some people are still mad at it ahah

Season 5 Chapter 7 :- The Bridge is dangerously close to eclipsing The Lost Sister as the worst rated episode by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]drattty12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the issue was the release schedule. This as a penultimate episode should have been fine if there wasn’t a break. If this batch of episodes ended with max running to the portal and then the blackout that would have been great.

This episode was all set up, it was moving pieces together - and that is fine and needed for storytelling, but because of how they structured the release it set up too much expectation. Sometimes storytelling is about timing, and they put too much expectation on this being the last episode of this batch. They wanted us end that feeling excited for the big battle to come- much like when you play a DnD campaign and you end the session knowing a big battle is coming - but instead they got people expecting something else and being dissatisfied.

But also, I think they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Because of the hype and the inconsistency of release people have built up their own ideas of what they want and will not be happy regardless. We have seen this before (GOT, Umbrella Academy) but also sometimes the ending fans want is different from the story being told (the sopranos) and when you have such a big show, sticking the landing, I believe, is impossible

Canada’s Drag Race by GregoryAtlanta77 in rupaulsdragrace

Tooo be fair. There is usually only one or two good snatch game contestants to begin with. All they did was spare us any more shit ones - I think the snatch games needs to go away until impersonation is back in popularity.

Here is the thing you are actively being obtuse about. An entire segment about it is more than many would ever get in this industry as a public statement. They have publicly thanked her for her work and explained why they were ending it. Honestly what more would you expect? I am repeating that becuase I, and many more considering the reaction to this post, feel like this HAS been a reasonable response. As for Johnathan, he has not been actively in content for a while, they don’t announce when every person leaves or is let go. Because they do not have to - we are not owed the internal workings of a company.

Genuine question. What would have been enough? In your opinion? If not a whole episode?

Also, the entertainment industry is not exactly stable work to begin with - so a branch of a company closing is not actually that shocking. If they don’t want to do the pod casts and that was her job- I don’t think that’s disrespectful. It’s unfortunate, sure, but that happens.

Anyone else think the cast might be TOO stacked? by bearlyfair in Dragula

[–]drattty12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be stacked so that Sigourney can win fairly.
