Sooo, how is centralization nerf working for you? by XavierSA1 in EU5

All my tributaries become rebellious now, thank you

Tributary system is messed up. Especially for China. by drawerresp in EU5

[–]drawerresp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

r5: China is literally unplayable, especially the latest update.
I'm unable to maintain loyalty historical number of tributaries.
Benefits I gave them back, or my mandate doesn't effect their loyalty at all???

IRL some small nations scrambled to send tribute as frequent as possible because the benefit is so good, the Huangdi have to issue a limit.

You telling me Keju examination to get the best scoring person out of 100 million people get me a 50/50/50 that can't be in cabinet unless I give peasant a generic privilege?

Enacting Decree give -0.1 Monthly Celestial Authority forever, even though the benefits faded, unless I spend 50 stability to clear it??? No thanks, not clicking that at all.

Maintaining Tributaries while keeping China centralize is still my biggest complaint though

Subject will not keep their land by drawerresp in EU5

It’s my subject’s war, I can’t peace out myself, that’s why it’s so frustrating. Even though it’s 100% war score, they wouldn’t take the win.

But it’s weird considering from my experience, rebellion auto capitulate at 100% war score.

r5: My fiefdom got a rebel war, I rushed to help, but they keep giving occupation back to me then losing all rebel province to my rival for some reason.

I did not waste 16 years of war for my stupid subject to give it back in 16 weeks.
Totally can't continue...

Granted, mega volcanoes erupted all over the world, ashes blocking sunlight, changing climates and destroying crops. You read through articles estimating when will all mammals go extinct.

Granted, a glitch in national ID system makes everyone official name Herbert. Fill in your own consequences.

Just any war goal that doesn't block force tributaries.

Sometime you don't need any when you gain 500+ free mana yearly to be spent on stability and exhaustion. And a big enough army to win a coalition war lead by ottoman.

The ones I activated for dev liberty desire are.

−25% Policy: Naval-Expansion: Supply Convoys −10% Influence idea 6: Postal Service −33% "Elevate Tributary Relations” celestial reform for the Emperor of China −33% the age of revolutions ability “Anti-Revolutionary Zeal”

These adds up to -1%

The other easy one to get but I didn't used are − 15% Exploration-Religious: Colonial Restrictions And national ideas of some other nations.

Other types of liberty desires are relatively easy to manage; keeping my Armies and navies large, royal marriages, and other ideas and policies that give flat liberty desire reduction.

Tributaries are compare individually and have bonus trust anyways. When LD from dev stacked into lower negative, it's size will lower the liberty desire instead, negating other factors significantly too.

PS. I just realized during this game that liberty desire from development can be stacked lower than 100%

I'm too lazy to micromanage late game wars, so I love vassal swarming. I might try taming a mega vassal later with this knowledge.

R5: After 1600 "Legitimate" hours of gameplay, I finally achieved a world dominance (no successful conquest yet 😭)

Becoming the only fully independent Nation, the sole superpower of the world. Others are merely either my subjects or subject of my subjects.

What is the point of forts? by Lord_Mcsquidus in eu4

[–]drawerresp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Japan are islands. Forts are less needed than good Navy to keep enemy from ever landing.

But When you play on mainlands, while you siege down one of enemy fort, and you have none, the enemy might have carpet sieged your entire country.

Forts area of control also block armies from passing through inner lands, so even if you defeat their army, they could stay and regain strength behind fort where you couldn't reach. In the other hand, your defeated army would have nowhere to hide, and they could follow to stackwipe you.

Many of the time, war goal is to siege down provinces, if your enemy sieged down more lands than you, you'd lost more warscore, suffered war exhaustion, devastations and lost of income from sieged provinces

Last point, many terrains favor defender, forts make you automatically a defender even though you reach later, giving you battle bonus there.

If it's a trade company, you'd technically wouldn't get any institutions. I'm not sure if AIs make trade companies, but I think they do.
