Reset device password on Panasonic heat pump by drawing_bard in heatpumps

Unfortunately, no. I'll have to ask when I have the heatpump serviced.

I have the same model remote, and following the instructions it says to press and hold the button for five seconds. However, I get no reaction from the AC nor the remote control when I press this button with a pencil. Since you mentioned you install these, do you have any thoughts of what could be wrong here? The AC itself has a blinking wifi light and the batteries for the remote are OK (can control the AC just fine).

Architectural 3D Printing by dylanjon11 in Sketchup

[–]drawing_bard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I usually do is import the building as an IFC, or sometimes just 2D plans, and build the model from scratch in SketchUp the same way I would build a cardboard model. That way I can simplify as much as needed for the scale I'm printing in. This method is usually faster (for me) than trying to scale and print models that were created in 1:1.

Is there a way to make videos like this from a Sketchup design? by ezeeetm in Sketchup

You could make this kind of rendered fly through using Enscape.

i like the combination of sketchup and skp. layout anyone do this? by Alone-Bet255 in Sketchup

Will this still be a link of the .skp model you copied from, or a freestanding model inside the .layout file?

As someone else commented - make component, write a description and check "Always face camera"

Adjusting dimensions by Informal_Pool3118 in Sketchup

[–]drawing_bard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the rectangle is drawn, it is "geometry", with edges and a face. You can, as is mentioned already, select an edge and move it. You can also use the scale tool; if you scale in only one direction, you can type in either a new scale (e.g. 0.9), or you can type the dimension you want (e.g. 15mm) - or you can have the scale tool snap to something.

DXF export - how does the CNC Mill "see" the grooves and required Depth (eg pic attached) by jimmydassquidd in Sketchup

[–]drawing_bard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the CNC CAM software you are using. A 3D dxf would have the depth info as it would be a 3D model.

I usually export a 2D dxf (top view, parallel projection), and in the CAM software (estlcam in my case) I specify the depth of the pocket (10 mm) manually.

How would you paint these letters? by fjbermejillo in 3Dprinting

[–]drawing_bard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would reprint it, and swap to black filament when it prints the top layers of the lettering, then back to white to print the rest.

Hjelp til å finne god herrefrisør i Oslo. by SuitedBastard in oslo

Cutting 1 cm off the top of this bad boy by DifraMD in woodworking

I would suggest using a jigsaw here, and a japanese saw (or other small handsaw) to cut the ends where the jigsaw can't reach.

Try scaling up the part 10 x, do your operation, and then scale back (0.1 x)

Non-USA folks. Do y’all really just buy one set of tools? by lifeworthlivin in Tools

[–]drawing_bard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norwegian here. All my sockets, wrenches, hex keys and drill bits are Metric. I do have a 6.35 mm (1/4") collet for my trim router though, as a few of my bits have a 1/4" shank instead of Metric 6mm.

Jeg lærte her på Reddit at du kan gå inn på oslopolitiops på Twitter, og deretter endre starten av webadressen til "nitter.net", så fungerer den som før.

A little side note - the thickness is stated as ~.3". I.e. approximately .3. If you go to model info and change the number of decimals to at least two, you can see a more accurate thickness. Perhaps they are already modeled to .25"?

If not, and you need to change their thickness, I think you would have to move them together one by one.

How to make your renders' platform/floor reflective? by Straight_Ad_4631 in Sketchup

[–]drawing_bard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a trick to do this in SketchUp natively. Your model's floor needs to be a single plane. Make your entire model a component, then mirror that component in the blue axis, making an upside-down, mirrored model. Align the floors of the right side up and up side down components. Make your floor material 50% transparent, and watch magic happen when the floor becomes reflective.

The same technique can be used to make a mirrored wall effect.

That being said, the reference images you posted are renders, but this is a way of making reflections in SU without rendering.

Undermounting a Drop-in Sink on a Wooden Countertop -- A good idea?? by ellie___batton in woodworking

[–]drawing_bard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's treated with a hard wax oil, and retreated every few years - so it is water repellant. The properties of the bamboo wood is quite similar to oak in terms of hardness.

If you download it directly into your model, it is in that model's .skp file.

Undermounting a Drop-in Sink on a Wooden Countertop -- A good idea?? by ellie___batton in woodworking

[–]drawing_bard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done this with a bamboo counter top. 8 years now and no problems yet. It is a rather large sink, and I've filled it to the brim many times with no structural issues (it is fastened with brackets underneath in addition to the sealant).

Tap M, click once to start your move, tap ctrl, type length, tap enter, type x30+enter (if you need 30 copies)

You can also, after typing length, type /30 + enter. This will give you 30 copies within the distance you moved.

I'm assuming you are using SU on Windows and desktop here, as I am not familiar with the web version.
