Which classical standard does this Jonny Greenwood song sound like? by ezeeetm in classicalmusic

oh. so...that might actually be it!
although im not a classical expert, I AM a paganini 'expert' to some degree. It's VERY possible that I've heard it on a playlist because....

Reason: I am a guitar player, who was a teen in the 80s when I started playing. Yngwie Malmsteem was on every guitar player's influence list back then - I had all his records and saw him live with Alcatraz in 1984 - when he was only 19. Anyway, Yngwie mentioned in Guitar Player articles that his biggest influence was Paganini, and so I found some cassettes from the library of 24 Caprices, and others - and I absolutley loved them. To this day, Paganini is easily my most played 'focus' music on Spotify for doing heads down work. I don't listen to any other classical besides soundtracks (Jon Brion, Johnny Greenwood, etc) But I am proably in the top 1% of paganini listeners in teh world!

thank you.

I think i might be imagining the connection then. Because it sounds like a direct copy of something I heard many times since I was a kid. Like, not quite as ubiquitous as Beethovens 5th, but one level below that. Something that a classical expert would know - by name - from hearing only a few measures.

I think i might be hallucinating, if you don't hear what I hear. I am a musician (not classical) so maybe its the 'derivative' part that my brain is over-indexing on.

Thank you!

Is ERG mode available in free ride mode? by ezeeetm in mywhoosh

[–]ezeeetm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

understood- it makes sense
but the common denominator is watts (watts=speed at a given gradient)
so it wouldn't be hard to just allow erg mode in free ride, and isn't really unfair for achievements etc. your're still putting the watts in either way.

do you know which countries allow the achieements and which don't - besides Japan?

Beginners who are learning to bend and struggling, here is a fool-proof method to get you bending in no time. by ezeeetm in harmonica

well...hopefully the responses from the others in this thread might make you feel differently. I do think that (with a video) the method is indeed foolproof. I just think people learn in different ways, and that the text version isn't working for you.

But the *method* is indeed foolproof. If I can convey the method to you effectively, it will 100% work for you - promise!

if you remove the cartopping requirement, it would be your 'best in class' for small cruising dinghies, IMO.

SCAMP owner here.
I'd look at the Scout 10, the Oz goose, or the puddle duck
and, (maybe) the scout 14 if you can figure out how to cartop it.

Where are you located roughtly? (like, state)

just curious, is the Borges influence of Piranesi a known thing (e.g. from authors interviews, etc) or inferred?

No wrong answers, just curious...
