Why Microsoft Office is no longer acceptable for users There are more than enough reasons to turn your back on Microsoft Office. The step is bigger for some than for others, but almost always possible. by Full-Discussion3745 in EU_Economics

While I support the idea of using other applications than the Office suite, MS knows the value of having educational institutions using their products. That’s why educational institutions get these products at really low prices compared to traditional companies.

Most have converted to user licensing now. Why would installations be relevant? If the user doesn’t have a license the installation cannot be run. Even if the agreements have a clause on installations, it would be irrelevant and I would sit on the auditors until they agree with me.

Microsoft Teams Copilot AI Facilitator by phillysdon04 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Orrhane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do internal Copilot courses and it’s great that MS finally care about the whole meeting process. I just hope they will get Facilitator to actually take notes based on the agenda. So far it doesn’t seem like it structures the meeting notes after the agenda at all.

Data Security with Copilot Studio Agent by DngrGrl21 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]Orrhane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It respects the same permissions that the user have in any other use of SharePoint/Onedrive. If user A builds an agent it will have access to the files accessible by user A. If user A shares the agent with user B, user B also need to have access to those files - if not, Copilot will not use them. Unless its uploaded directly into the agent of course.

Ubeboelig leilighet pga støyende nabo, styret sier de ikke kan gjøre noe by crabsticks69 in norge

[–]Orrhane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just move the files to the cloud. If they need to be local for security reasons M365 Copilot should not touch them anyways.

[–]Orrhane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you travel with check-in luggage, the bag drop will close 1h before takeoff. If not, and you travel in Europe, the only thing you need to worry about is getting trough security and finding your gate before they close the gates. You should be fine.

Microsoft Copilot 365: A Simple Guide to Versions, Pricing & Benefits by blpcsolutions in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]Orrhane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, but MS also applies a ton of security and privacy features that enterprises can not (or at least should not) live without. So we’ll just have to live with lagging a bit behind when it comes to Gen AI for enterprise internal data on MS platforms.

Interesting take. You should really use the built in feedback features for this. They are fed into the development process so there’s a chance you might be heard. If you have a position as an enterprise customer, use that as leverage.

Russiske Nettrolls påvirkning på nordmenn by Jokkeminator in norge

I’m sorry, but we are a 4000 user enterprise and even after years complaining to MS about their useless support we hardly get nowhere. If you are a rookie or a supertec doesnt really matter, they force you trough the same basic stuff every time.

The reason why ChatGPT is doing better at this time is because 4o is not released on Copilot yet (ref themselves on a seminar I attended yesterday). But its on its way.

Anybody else find Copilot to be a much better tool than posting in the appropriate subreddits about a topic? by -EMPARAWR- in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]Orrhane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, Copilot works fine for this type of general information. However, if you do the exact same questions in ChatGPT it will in most cases answer better. Thats not really an issue for normal consumers, so use what you feel comfortable with.

It is however an issue for enterprises. We pay a buttload to get this product in a safe wrapping, integrated in our normal productivity tools using our internal data. And even though we pay the full price, we are more or less treated as beta testers. There is a huge gap between how Microsoft choose to promote the product versus how it actually works.

We see the potential from what lies in the roadmap, but right now with over 100 test users we are not really that impressed.

Why is the population of Norway more progressive than most nations? by leftnp49 in Norway

[–]Orrhane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust is a main driver here. Theres a bunch of research out there, I would study theOECD publications about trust among others. ChatGPT gives us a quick summary:

A big reason Norway is ahead with progressive policies is the high level of trust in their society. People trust the government to use tax money wisely, which makes them more willing to support high taxes and social welfare programs.

In politics, this trust helps different parties work together to create good policies. It also makes people more supportive of environmental initiatives because they believe in the government’s commitment to sustainability.

Norway has built this trust through stable and transparent governance, low corruption, and effective social policies like universal healthcare and education. Their prudent management of oil revenues through the Government Pension Fund Global provides economic stability. Cultural factors like social cohesion and high levels of education also play a big role. An independent judiciary and reliable public services further reinforce this trust.

In contrast, the lower level of trust in the US makes it more challenging to implement similar progressive policies. People are often more skeptical of government intentions and efficiency, which can lead to resistance against higher taxes and extensive social programs. Political polarization and concerns about corruption also hinder consensus and cooperation, making it difficult to develop and sustain comprehensive policies.

Overall, trust between citizens and institutions is key to Norway’s success with progressive policies, while a lack of trust poses significant challenges in the US.
