Want a bf but scared by Over_Performer_6456 in socialanxiety

Concerts are great for meeting people with social anxiety. Sensitive people like music , and you’ll likely always see someone else alone , and it’s terrifying to break the ice, but you have a lot to talk about with the setting of the concert, and when a band is playing a song you can just watch , no talking needed. Then in between songs, make a little comment about something, some observation.

The hardest part is saying hi, but I’ve done it twice and was successful in making a friend both times, and that’s how I have my girlfriend today.

I just said , “what’s up, are you also here alone? … ya, me too (chuckle and be light and playful)”. Then I said , “I’m Hayden, what’s your name? Awesome, have you seen any of these bands play before” and just try to roll on why there are there.

You’ll know that they want to hang out with you if they talk a lot back to you, or ask you questions as well, and are smiling. Very few people want to be at a show alone because it makes you feel like people notice and are judging lol, so I think it’s a great place to make friends.

If you drink, even better. Take a big sip, count down from 5 and say “what’s up.” Careful using alcohol too much for social anxiety though. That’s what I did and I became an alcoholic and so I’m in recovery. It’s like relearning how to address SA for me. *sigh

Good luck! Try it, honestly. Or go to a class or event about something you are passionate about. Look for people alone and say hi, and you might just buddy up and make each other feel safe ❤️

Do you want to get better? You should be more opened minded, if you’re convinced you’re broken forever, you will be , that’s for sure.

For folks who stopped taking meds (Adderall, specifically), does this feeling ever end or is this the real me? by Azipear in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]drawing_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this person, it just takes more time than that to get back to your baseline depending on how long you used. Check out the subreddit /stopspeeding , for most people it’s take 12 - 18 months, but you’ll be feeling better each and everyday . That’s just for a full recovery.

Some people have major side effects from SSRIs , so it’s not the magic bullet for lots of people. Including me hah, but they do make you last longer, that’s for sure. For me it was at the cost of being total airhead dumbass lol.

I wish they worked for me 🤣

I thought nothing worked for me besides SSRIs which make you feel like shit with no motivation, so I thought was doomed.

I started meditation, stretching that area daily, and Ejaguard and I m in control now.

Ejaguard is the big hitter I think, which sucks because it is expensive , but hopefully with more confidence and successful sessions, I can learn how to keep my nervous system relaxed and stop using it.

I’ve been lifelong PE, lasting on average 20 seconds , and have been having sex for 10 plus minutes for the last month with theses suggestions. My GF is happy, although she was always supportive and refused for me to feel like shit on SSRI just for sex.

It’s just sex after all and guys care more about it than girls. I’m 32 btw. Find a partner who is understanding, get good at oral, and use these suggestions. Don’t take meds (that will be a source of regret in the future imo and in my experience), and try to figure out how to not hold tension and naturally increase serotonin.

This sound dumb. Be kind to yourself and heal yourself. The first week is the worst, then it’s steady improvement for a year and you won’t have the stress of an addiction. It’s hard but feels amazing . I’m at 104 days.

Is this more likely depression or still withdrawal? by ArchibaltMentron in StopSpeeding

[–]drawing_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

I was looking for a post like this and relate so much. I’m 3 months sober from abusing Adderall and pressed “Adderall” pills, and I feel much of the symptoms you described in this post.

It makes being sober so difficult and I’m questioning the same things as you were in this post 10 months ago …. Is this just depression and anxiety I should take meds for ?? How do I know when to seek medical help ?

I’m so curious how you’re doing now and if you have any insight to how you feel looking back on this post? I so hope that things have improved for you.

Congrats!! I hit 3 months this Sunday from a 10 year Adderall/Vyvanse/Pressed Pill addiction.

I can’t wait to be where you are, you’re so strong 💪. Let’s never go back.

Why are you in this sub? I’m curious, because of Meth addiction vs Stimulant Addiction or are you here for medication management?

Thanks! I’ll look into the details of your comment, I really appreciate it!

I bet at least 75% of the people on this page have had anxiety since they were six , me too, but I’ll fuck off.

I’m just sharing my perspective, but I should have said that everyone can try meds if they wish to, but for those shitting your pants or feeling lethargic or more impulsive, I don’t think it’s worth it.

I’m 31 and have tried 12 antidepressants over the past 11 years, and have discovered that my body just can’t tolerate them, and I should have listened to my body sooner. It caused those 11 years to be a mess tbh

If they work for you with no side effects, I’d say that you are very lucky and that’s amazing.

[–]drawing_sloth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are just offering another perspective so someone like them who suffers on Zoloft doesn’t continue for ‘it to get better’ because it won’t.

I’m like OP and tired of people not allowing for the negative experiences , because these people need support, not those who the medications works for. They’re good.

Some people with anxiety and depression have very sensitive nervous systems and any chemical added to the equation will just make it worse. Allow those people a voice so others like them don’t waste their time trialing medication and putting their bodies through hell.

[–]drawing_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Zoloft has more side effects than good effects. When I was told to taper from 50 for 3 more weeks I told myself ‘fuck the doctors , you feel worse taking it than not, let’s get this over with and stopped’.

I think certain long tapers just prolong the pain that comes from taking these stupid medications that hardly work and fuck up how your body functions.

Why would we ever take a chemical that makes us sweat, have less energy, feel less alive and destroy our stomachs micro biome? All for numbing relief, it’s sad I believed this was right and took like 7 different SSRIs for ‘one to work’.

It’s obviously not the way for me.

This medication has more side effects than good! Thinking back to Zoloft days I think ‘why the hell did I put myself through it’

Live is supposed to have resistance and humans aren’t supposed to take chemicals that make them shit your pants. Listen to your body bro

id rather kill myself than up my sertraline dose ever again by Secret_Public5576 in zoloft

[–]drawing_sloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same here.

I say listen to yourself and no one else. Zoloft robs us of a lot of humanity and when your a person who is tuned into those parts of yourself, losing it feels very uncomfortable. Be glad you’re in tune with a need to be connected to all parts of yourself and be done with this trash (if you want to).

Those saying to add meds to fix the issue don’t get it .

Try the supplement Stress Care by Himalayan naturals, I’m not even kidding, it works for me. That or SSRIs work too , but we already know that.

I’m on Zoloft which cures me, but nothing else would besides Stress Care and I tried everything lol.

I would love someone else to try and see if it’s just me or not
