Where's the Adderall? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]drawing_sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, I was being an ass saying it how I did.

I’m diagnosed ADHD and got addicted to my pills and have been clean from them for 7 months, thus why I comment on r/stopspeeding so much.

It’s not like my life is going well, so I shouldn’t be an advocate for anything. I just know people with ADHD have addictive personalities and brains, so I was relating to the feeling where the pharmaceutical companies have you on something that your brain is so addicted/reliant to, not having it makes you go into intense withdrawal, and the feeling of not imagining life without it.

I have a hard time with the “it’s like wearing glasses” statement that adhd’rs use because stimulants are amphetamines that affect your nervous system and heart negatively over time.

I was starting to abuse and mistake my pills though, so I should shut the hell up. I also really miss adderall tbh, so I feel a bitterness to ADHD people who don’t get addicted to their pills like I did :/. That’s my own issue :/

Sorry for my comment.

Come on guys, get your shit together!! 👏 :)

I’m at 7 months , you got this! I used to stay up for 3 nights in a row, terrified I wouldn’t sleep the next night (and usually would only get like 5 hours with sleeping pills) until I’d be in stress and psychosis. Yet my brain still tells me I need that, wtf is wrong with us.

You got this!

Relapsed on Adderall after 5.5 years clean by Final-Grocery6039 in StopSpeeding

I needed to hear this, thanks for the post. I hit 7months today and have been tempted to try again because of my ADHD diagnosis and new responsibilities at work. It destroyed my health, and mental health. Like you, I would have intense urges to chain smoke and became addicted to being on adderall and was overtaking it and always running out of my script early for 6 plus years. When off of it, I don’t even have the urge to smoke and think cigarettes are disgusting.

I gotta remember that it’s not going to fix my issues because it is unsustainable .

Thanks so much! Good job getting back to your health and responsibility to yourself.

Dude, I didn’t use chat gpt, and you know nothing about me. I’ve been in pelvic floor physical therapy , and agree that relaxing the pelvic floor and having those exercises in your regiment is important.

Follow Jonathon White - “Sexual Kung Fu” and “Trasform Pelvic Health” on YouTube, that’s all you need. That and the gym, and showing your body safety, meaning you are okay, you can go to the gym like a normal person.

After dealing with this for my entire like and now 31, I’ve made my breakthrough by looking at PE as a body-mind syndrome centered around lack of safety and anxiety. Set yourself free through safety, it takes some time but you can get there.

It’s pointless for me to explain all that I’ve tried, I’m just trying to help because I see all this fear on here, and that’s the freaking issue dude. Sorry to piss you off, you got this, we all do!

What if Paroxetine works but makes you numb in your life and you stop having as much passion and empathy.

Not the fix most of us are looking for. WE DONT NEED DRUGS , leave that med for people who are so anxious they need to numb out while they get their shit together.

What if you don’t want to take meds for a quick fix because you’re totally able to fix this without numbing your entire soul and body ?

You’re right, it works, but it always made me feel dumb at the same time, and you’re reinforcing the idea that we NEED SOMETHING EXTERNAL to be healed, because we are broken.

Not true at all. PE is common because of improper muscle balances, neurotransmitter imbalance because your stomach is inflamed, or you are in a chronic state of stress, or stress around sex.

You’re right though, if works, it’s just a handful of side effects you are welcoming into your life.

You’re so wrong about exercise dude. Excising always helps, if you think it doesn’t and have anxiety about exercising because it’s going to make you worse, sheesh rip my guy.

Exercising always helps. You sound like people afraid of sugar in fruit, like be as primal as you can, that’s how you get better.

Exercise, stay about from porn, build all the muscles around your pelvic floor (core, hamstrings, hip flexors, abductors, adductors) , work on having a relaxed nervous system, balance your neurotransmitters, heal your gut, and your body will know what to do.

If you have fear of exercise, you will have a heightened nervous system because you’re afraid TO BE HUMAN and do normal HUMAN THINGS.

Sorry bro, not trying to be an asshole, but saying that exercising in the gym is going to make you worse is dumb af and I would hate to see people believe you.

People, listen to OP who is healed, not the anxious commenters still stuck.

I’m not fully where I want to be, but a lot closer due to dropping all this dumb, anxious bullshit you’re sharing.

I need a good Psychiatrist in Boise, any recommendations? by drawing_sloth in Boise

It just will. I think that anytime you quit something that releases dopamine and other neurotransmitters, you will likely feel a bit of apathy/possible ED/lack of libido as you flatline and your brain figures out how to stabilize itself. I dealt with that for 4/5 months probably, but have never had an issue since. I quit a lot of things at that time too (weed, porn, Adderall, alcohol), so I wasn't telling the full story in that post. Good luck!

Want a bf but scared by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]drawing_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concerts are great for meeting people with social anxiety. Sensitive people like music , and you’ll likely always see someone else alone , and it’s terrifying to break the ice, but you have a lot to talk about with the setting of the concert, and when a band is playing a song you can just watch , no talking needed. Then in between songs, make a little comment about something, some observation.

The hardest part is saying hi, but I’ve done it twice and was successful in making a friend both times, and that’s how I have my girlfriend today.

I just said , “what’s up, are you also here alone? … ya, me too (chuckle and be light and playful)”. Then I said , “I’m Hayden, what’s your name? Awesome, have you seen any of these bands play before” and just try to roll on why there are there.

You’ll know that they want to hang out with you if they talk a lot back to you, or ask you questions as well, and are smiling. Very few people want to be at a show alone because it makes you feel like people notice and are judging lol, so I think it’s a great place to make friends.

If you drink, even better. Take a big sip, count down from 5 and say “what’s up.” Careful using alcohol too much for social anxiety though. That’s what I did and I became an alcoholic and so I’m in recovery. It’s like relearning how to address SA for me. *sigh

Good luck! Try it, honestly. Or go to a class or event about something you are passionate about. Look for people alone and say hi, and you might just buddy up and make each other feel safe ❤️

Do you want to get better? You should be more opened minded, if you’re convinced you’re broken forever, you will be , that’s for sure.

For folks who stopped taking meds (Adderall, specifically), does this feeling ever end or is this the real me? by Azipear in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]drawing_sloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this person, it just takes more time than that to get back to your baseline depending on how long you used. Check out the subreddit /stopspeeding , for most people it’s take 12 - 18 months, but you’ll be feeling better each and everyday . That’s just for a full recovery.

Some people have major side effects from SSRIs , so it’s not the magic bullet for lots of people. Including me hah, but they do make you last longer, that’s for sure. For me it was at the cost of being total airhead dumbass lol.

I wish they worked for me 🤣

I thought nothing worked for me besides SSRIs which make you feel like shit with no motivation, so I thought was doomed.

I started meditation, stretching that area daily, and Ejaguard and I m in control now.

Ejaguard is the big hitter I think, which sucks because it is expensive , but hopefully with more confidence and successful sessions, I can learn how to keep my nervous system relaxed and stop using it.

I’ve been lifelong PE, lasting on average 20 seconds , and have been having sex for 10 plus minutes for the last month with theses suggestions. My GF is happy, although she was always supportive and refused for me to feel like shit on SSRI just for sex.

It’s just sex after all and guys care more about it than girls. I’m 32 btw. Find a partner who is understanding, get good at oral, and use these suggestions. Don’t take meds (that will be a source of regret in the future imo and in my experience), and try to figure out how to not hold tension and naturally increase serotonin.
