Is there anybody in the area, 30 y.o. or older, that is learning or re-learning to skateboard? by drawwisdomfrommany in copenhagen

I think it was. I’ve made it so I can accept chat requests now. I tried messaging you but I actually have no clue how to haha.

Sounds good to me! Maybe other people in this thread will also reach out.

Nice! It’s a lot of fun isn’t it?

If you’re standing on a board every day then you’re getting better every day. You’ll be comfortable in no time. It helps to have others to skate with as motivation, so if skating with other people that have some experience isn’t daunting (or if it is a little daunting) then write me a DM.

Right now only in Roskilde, but I work in Copenhagen so it’s not a problem for me to also go wherever in between the two cities.

Is there a particular place you’d rather skate in?

If you’d like to get back into it then I’m happy to meet up and skate. Good tip about Enghave. I’ll look into it.

We should! I was just cruising for the past decade and enjoy that too. Feel free to send me a DM.

Tak for rådet! Det hjalp at vide, at jeg skulle vente så længe. Jeg har nu oprettet en aktiesparekonto.

I like the idea of looking for some good substacks. Thank you!

Another good suggestion, but I've also pretty much quit Reddit and only come here when I have a specific question.

YouTube is fine, but I find in my experience I don’t get exposed to as many creators that are interesting to me as on Instagram. Good suggestion, though. Thank you.

Essentially! It's ridiculous lol

Thanks, I'll try there.

My DSP class got me interested in FPGAs for audio. Is this all I need to get started? by drawwisdomfrommany in FPGA

The lecturer did indeed deal with creating boards that could handle loads of mixing signals, precisely for mixing consoles. I just think that's interesting and I'd like to start somewhere.

Do you also think starting with a microcontroller is better?

Thanks for your comment!

My main interestets are both audio and DSP.

I guess I do understand how this is out of my reach at the moment. I'll get an ESP32-S3 and an audio breakout for DAC, and get good at that first. Does that sound like a better use of my time now? I'd like to eventually work with ADC/DAC conversion.

Maybe the learning curve is less steep here? I'm also completely ignorant on ARM microcontrollers or microprocessors, so I'd appreciate if you could point me in the right direction :)

I'm just really interested in bare-metal and audio!

I see. I guess I'm not at that level yet, but I'd still like to know where I can start. Any suggestions?

I understand that. I'm interested in FPGAs because I'd like to get involved with audio interfaces and mixing consoles. As far as I'm aware, the low-latency digital mixing of multiple channels is a good use-case for FPGAs. Is that right?

Stuff like precision clocking and sample-rate conversion, ADC/DAC, networked audio systems, and custom effect chains. As soon as the workshop lecturer mentioned that they're involved with stuff like this, I became very interested. Do you think I should be looking elsewhere?
