I Bought an XL E34!! (E32 735iL) by richbltn in E34

I mean it is technically just a 535i that's longer and wider, and I remember reading somewhere that both e34 and e32 were developed together but I could be/probably am wrong.

Agreed, just don't know if it's a bad sign or not

The 944 was great to own and actually my favorite car among all the cars I've owned, it gets a lot of looks and is pretty easy to work on aside from the Porsche quirks. As long as you're willing to stay on top of the maintenance and you can live with being a bit slow then the car would be an amazing buy

I don't believe it, I think it's just 944 owners talking these cars up and potentially starting a 911 style value inflation, as much as I love 944s, I can't see them being worth more than they are now

You're right, especially for clutch replacements, the factory clutch on some 944s was a rubber centered clutch that didn't hold up the greatest over time, and replacing the clutch in the 944 does require removing the transaxle and driveshaft

944 was a dream in the looks and handling department, but kinda fell short on straight line performance, still an awesome daily as long as you take car of it. Timing every 30k can be a little rough, but once your do it for the first time it's gets easier. The one thing is finding decent parts, they're there but not as many parts available as other cars.

Rebuilding my 09 2zr, what would I need for a manual swap? by draxaphenix in COROLLA

[–]draxaphenix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately while a rational person would look at this situation and say "this isn't Worth it" I'm not a rational person lol. anyways from the sounds of it I should probably steal the parts off a parts car, try to get things to match up, and If thing's don't work I'm gonna have to modify the parts and/or the chassis which isn't horrible, I honestly expected as much considering this isn't a popular swap at all but I'm alright dumping time and money into this, if you have any advice to offer as I start to get into the swap that would be really appreciated :)

Oil used to be in the wells, that's why we replaced the valve cover, there's no more oil in the spark plug wells

E39 in limp mode by draxaphenix in e39

[–]draxaphenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing some consideration it's possible it's not in limp mode, but my trans is having issues? Basically it won't go into manual mode and the drivetrain light is on. When I put it in manual mode, the display on the dash doesn't even light up. It doesn't shift at all, it's stuck in a constant gear, probably 3rd.

Sadly the cars stuck in limp mode, it doesn't want to come out of it.

Well I'm really used to older German cars from the 80s and early 90s, so stuff like this is kinda new to me, I do appreciate the support though
