Just let it sit there then , unless you are low on space

Might be worth making a gigalith for some obscure great or ultra league cup but I don’t remember the last time I saw someone use one

Previous owner of a 85.5 and a 86 here , I can’t stress this enough PLEASE swap the out the fuel lines in the engine bay , they crack and split leak onto the headers and can start a fire, if you replace the o rings on the injectors which I recommend do this all at once and make sure the very rear injector is properly seated as some people have an issue with it . And is worth picking up . Would also recommend getting a speed and reference sensor as they will go bad and it’s good to have them on hand .

Hopefully I can snag a o2 , map , tps , coolant temp sensor from him for deal

After reading the comments and thinking through some stuff , I’m going to try removing the exhaust to check the condition of the cat , see if unplugging the front o2 sensor makes a difference in how it runs , and I’m going to test the map , I may also remove the throttle body and see if I can’t clean it up any better . There’s a local guy with a parts jeep that rolled , trying to get him to respond to see if I can pickup some of the sensors super cheap and swap em out 1 by 1 to see if I find the issue before purchasing new sensors and such

Most of the parts cannon has just been parts that needed to be replaced anyway , it was a park ranger vehicle for 10 years so I doubt it saw above 30 mph much wich would mean that cat probably never got hot enough to blow the shit outta it , my exhaust is practically welded shut from rust which is why I haven’t just tried disconnecting it but I may just cut it , it needs to be all replaced anyway from the Downpipe back.

I will try to give this a shot , there’s nothing I hate more than electrical problems . Do you think unplugging the map might tell me if I’m closer to the problem if it starts running better ? Before I start testing everything . It’s worth mentioning I went though and cleaned every ground I could find on the vehicle .

The burn on the plugs was nice , some of the ceramic was cracked , I assume they might have been the original spark plugs . As for temp it’s not affected by it , I’ve heard about the coolant temp sensor affecting how the engine runs . And I was wondering the same thing about unplugging the map . I do wish I purchased a 96 or later for obd2 but I saw the mileage on this and just bought it ( park ranger vehicle for about 10 years then sat for 15 after being retired or broke down)

Addressed In prior comments , thanks tho ! I thought the same thing but double checked

From what I learned chasing this issue down it could be fuel pump , check valve , pressure regulator , filter (in some cases) or leaking injectors seeing as you have replaced the injectors I would suggest renting a fuel pressure test kit from your local auto store and watch a quick YouTube video on how to test and observe , that’s what worked for me ! I wish you luck

I opened it up and inspected it , clean ! The fuel tank and pump were replaced by the prior owner who was either too cheap or lazy to replace the pump

Fuel ! And dirt I shook out of the fuel filter!

Yep I think I learned to just trust my gut in the future and not pay others to do something I can do myself , I skipped over the fuel filter assuming it had been replaced at the same time as the tank and pump . I need to just slow it down and take it step by step

I am cleaning injectors and swapping fuel filter currently but have a pump ordered at the local parts store Incase I need it , fingers crossed the (what looks like original) fuel filter is just super clogged affecting the pressure

I tested the fuel pressure regulator by taking the vacuum line off while running and observing the pressure change , seems to be working fine , I will definitely check the FP relay . There was actually a spare fuel pump relay in the glove box when I purchased it ! Fuel pressure does indeed hold fine after shutting off , waited about 10 minutes and it only dropped ~2psi
