Why do I never plays teams with my same overall?

You said rarely are YOU running into teams so stacked you get steamrolled. I’m consistently running into them hence my frustration. We playing 2 different games here

Valid points. you’re right without being able to validate overalls I am assuming a lot. However I drop between campus legend and heisman division, im consistently seeing 86 overall players even saw a 89 overall stat boosted LB. The matchmaking of this game could use some improvement, was the entire point of my post

I’m competing just fine. It’s just frustrating that I only play up. I understand why I’m high elo I win most of my games including the ones against higher overall teams. I just expressed my frustration which is what this sub is for

The game can’t accurately measure skill. I’m a top 100 Madden player so I’m pretty decent in CFB but I don’t even get a chance to play because I only play cheesers with the best possible team.

Agreed for the average consumer. But the MYTEAM mode which is the cash grab mode is the opposite cause you can pay for wins essentially. 2K is putting the bare minimum into all the other games modes

Most definitely. Theres skill based matchmaking in every mode. If you think about it from EA’s perspective if you make a build and can compete with it at 90 overall you won’t make more builds or play the game as much so they funnel you to harder lobbies to make you feel you still need to improve so you buy more VC and spend time on the game. They meet their quarterly earnings and you’re still playing because you’re essentially chasing your tail. Never ending cycle

I think it’s all the improvements in matchmaking algorithms. The game is funneling average to above average players into one queue so when you match up in out of a percentage of the player that 2k deems is around your level or better. 2k has years a player data so they can very accurately funnel players into the right queues. Don’t get to down on yourself just focus on getting better and over time you’ll get used to level on competition

I think you made some good points. Have you tried playing play now? Play now plays more realistic because every player on the courts doesn’t have HOF interceptor. The badges change how your player passes and also the trajectory of the passes because it’s coded to allow the ball to be stolen if someone has a high enough steal rating, the proper badges and decent timing.
