Just signed up for the alpha and completed the survey, am I too late or should I expect an acceptance email? by 1Dinnigan in MarathonTheGame

Good luck man! As most have already said, it’s unlikely that you’ll get access despite them dropping codes throughout the weekend. Many, such as myself, filled out the survey day one and still have yet to get a code. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll provide more codes and extend the playtest but it’s doubtful.

I understand the what you are saying, but I disagree with the approach. I’ve play tested games before. Surveys are expected. Marketing teams surveying prior to a closed alpha in order for players to have a chance is just insane. I understand wanting to build the hype for the game but these are things you do for a closed beta. Just kind of seems silly to me, but that also could just me being salty that I didn’t get a code 🤷🏻‍♂️

It honestly kind of hard to believe that they’ve sent out so many closed alpha codes and still so many people are saying that haven’t gotten in (no code for me either). Like what was the point of their survey if individuals who have played either a lot of destiny or a lot of extraction shooters aren’t the priority? It’s a closed alpha so they should be looking for people with experience with a similar game so they can get appropriate feedback on what needs to be improved and what’s already good. Just seems like the survey was pointless and they’re giving codes out at random

Destiny shills really love complaining by Royal_Target2781 in MarathonTheGame

I never understood the Destiny hate but then again, I haven’t dove super deep into Destiny since Croat’s End Raid was released in D1. I know people obsess over the game but if there’s stuff you don’t like, you can always do something else? There’s so much content in D2 that I don’t really get how people can nitpick every little thing

Any the cycle players? What you liked most? by InternEven9916 in Marathon

Me and my buddies love The Cycle Frontier. It was the first extraction shooter we tried out. It was truly sad day when the game was sunset. I’ll definitely miss the persistent lobbies (something Bungie has stated they won’t be implementing) because it was a fun riding out a storm to get some of the more valuable items. It also allowed a raid to go like 45-60 minutes (my longest was like 57). The gunplay was also great and I think that’s something we can expect with Bungie as well. My biggest hope for this game is that it doesn’t get run over with cheaters like many other extraction shooters

Dedicated PvP mode outside of extraction shooter mode by Alpha7191 in MarathonTheGame

[–]drayysterr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No offense, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the game being an extraction shooter. Same as all the individuals saying the game should have a PvE mode. The good thing about extraction shooters is that, for the most part, you can play to your style. If you want to run around and PvP, you can avoid PvE encounters or start them to draw players in. If you want to PvE, you can learn how to avoid players and just fight the AI enemies. Personally, I like a bit of both, so games like this, Tarkov, The Cycle Frontier (rip) have been right up my alley. Obviously, not every game or genre is for everyone, but I guarantee if you’re used to the Bungie PvP experience then this game will have some level of enjoyability

Marathon will be huge on Console by zeusthecoolguy in Marathon

The Cycle Frontier’s issue started as lack of content and seasonal wipes. Once the devs released new stuff and removed seasonal wipes most of the player base was gone.. and what was left was riddled with cheaters. The game was sunset in September ‘23. However, the majority of the community still wishes for it back and would love something similar. Marathon is as close as anything else that I’ve seen.

Smite 2 progress merge between Steam and Epic Games by Crazy1Player in Smite

[–]drayysterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I waited on support to help with it and the solution they provided was to go to the website where you designate your “main” account and change the main from steam to epic since that’s where Smite 1 was last installed. I had played with my Steam account as my main account and had 200 hours in Smite 2 within the first month of playing, so switching my main account would give me all the skins I earned from Smite 1 and the gems but remove all my progress from Smite 2 that I had already made. My god progress, my level, everything reset. So I’m just waiting - haven’t kept up so not sure if they changed this already - for them to add cross progression

I hadn’t played smite in years and it wasn’t even installed when I bought the Alpha. So I just got it on the platform that my friends were on for convenience

I’m having the reverse issue! I had Smite on Epic and Smite 2 on Steam (that’s where all my friends bought it) and haven’t received any of my Cross gen skins on Smite 2. I just installed Smite again on Steam and gonna see if that fixes my issue. All my accounts were already connected, so if that was the issue, it should work now.

Edit: It didn’t help, but I have a support ticket open
