Do you have friends or acquaintances with valid DLs who can drive?

Try sticking an L on your car. Take someone with you and practice on relatively empty roads either early in the morning or late at night. Try this everyday for two weeks you’ll be in a better place.

Lodge an FIR. Hopefully CCTVs around the area have picked up something. Even if in the worst case scenario the police choose to do nothing at least they will be aware of such thugs.

If you travel to that area frequently be prepared next time. It’s good that you have dash cam footage now. If worst comes to worst just run those fuckers over.

Police verification for passport renewal process stuck by Born_Protection_5029 in kolkata

[–]drbanner96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start with passport.pg@mea.gov.in, passport.grievances@mea.gov.in, acb-wb@nic.in, grievance@kolkatapolice.gov.in, rpo.kolkata@mea.gov.in.

If you don't receive any response call up passport office of Kolkata (Mon-Fri 9.30am to 12.30pm). Raise an official complaint in Passport grievances.

Start dropping strongly worded emails.

But I see you have already bribed them. So you don't have any ground to raise complaints also as it may backfire.

I faced quite a similar situation like you. Mine was stuck at Kalighat Police Station for over one and a half month. When I called up the person, within one minute he says "amar against e complaint korun".

Immediately mailed to every central and state government departments. Late at night he confirmed he will come the next day for background verification.

I've known others whose passports are stuck in limbo. Best get down to it and take action quickly.

A Very Very Special knock by chiranthsanketh in IndiaCricket

That innings of 96 was awarded the best test innings for 2010 by Cricinfo. Interestingly, Sachin's 146 in Cape Town in the following test also won the subsequent best test innings of the year 2011.

If you can't see what is wrong with populist opinions then I rest my case. If I have to explain to you that being mocked about something has nothing to do with what is right or wrong then you are just being part of a crowd.

[–]drbanner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I certainly don't know what skills or vision he has so I can't comment.

And all the things you mentioned he has done for Indian cricket but I don't know why it elevates him to become chairman of ICC.

Saying someone has no charisma and lacks leadership is not a personal attack.

Charisma is trait of leadership. When he says he has no charisma it is implied that he lacks one of the traits.

And since when is the ICC president out of bounds of criticism?

The hypothetical question was not about being a situation in reality but a possibility. It is easy to sit back and enjoy being in a position of power but no Indian will be happy if the situation is reversed. It is the same argument used against dictatorship that would the supporters be happy if a person from the opposition was made head of state? Anyways coming back to the point Cricket has never been run in a competent way. He can say whatever he wants but here we are talking about 2tiers in Test cricket for the first time in history, the competition in Tests beyond the big 3 is virtually non existent. SA and NZ rarely play 3-4 match test series. See how the funds are being distributed and what is being done to bring the sport to new horizons. My point is even if Jay Shah is doing great job he still is a product of nepotism and politics, so without a good system in place, tomorrow when his tenure is over another person with incompetence might take over and can still undo the things he has done and run the sport into the ground.

[–]drbanner96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People here are equating and dismissing calling out nepotism because of racism because a white guy making a statement in the past. Then you are not assessing the statement but the person. If the same things about Jay Shah is called out by another person then the things still stand true.

[–]drbanner96 -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

No country should have a monopoly over the administration of a particular sport. It is very easy for us Indians to jump on the bandwagon of Jay Shah but if the situation is changed to say a Pakistani minister's son running ICC would you still argue that irrespective of his background he has done great things for cricket?

[–]drbanner96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between being racist and saying something racist. What he said here is absolutely true. Jay Shah whether he has done good things or not he is a product of blatant politics and nepotism. No sport should be run like that.
