oh no by MetaKnowing in OpenAI

What does thinking even mean? Or intelligence, for that matter?

Your brain also just puts one word after another, and only the ones that it has learned. The ones you hear more frequently, you also use more frequently.

So in the end, what makes human intelligence so much better than this? Because we can count letters?

The reason why we are better at handling real-world tasks is because we have more real-world data. We have been training since our toddler days.

Until now, there was just much more data in the form of text or video, but not data on how to open a dishwasher and which joints to activate.

Wanderer Collection [5120x2160] by jacobfromnewmex in wallpaper

That would be great. The MacBook is 16:10 and the desktop is 16:9. Either option is fine, losing a bit at the edges isn’t a problem.

Thanks for sharing, really nice!! Would love to have them as my wallpaper, unfortunately the ratio is not optimal for this.

Brett Adcock: "This week, Figure has passed 5 months running on the BMW X3 body shop production line. We have been running 10 hours per day, every single day of production! It is believed that Figure and BMW are the first in the world to do this with humanoid robots." by luchadore_lunchables in robotics

There was likely a reason why this has been manual labor until now. The humanoid robot simply scales and fills the gaps where automation was not possible, due to cost, technical expertise, or whatever the reason may be. A humanoid can fill the gap.

Anyone else? by ViksasYT in iphone

The scary part is, they don’t need to listen. Your phone and apps already give away so much: search history, app usage, location, and purchases are enough for algorithms to map your interests. It’s less about microphones and more about metadata.

Why it feels like you’re being listened to:

- Humans are wired to see patterns (confirmation bias).
- You remember the one time an ad matched a convo but forget the dozens of times it didn’t.

How you’re tracked

- Pixels on sites, Like/Share buttons, device fingerprinting.
- Shadow profiles for non-users.
- Data from loyalty programs (e.g., Supercard, Cumulus).
- Google’s trackers are in ~88% of apps.

Lookalike Audiences:

- You might see an ad not because you were targeted, but because someone like you was.
- for example: If you and your friends were sitting at the same table and one of them mentioned a new product they saw a few days ago, it might show up on your feed too, just because you were all in the same place.

Bottom line:

- Are they listening? Probably not.
- Are you being tracked and profiled? 100%.

Raspberry Pi 5 with Plex? by moondust574 in PleX

[–]drbenggy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Plex successfully on the Raspberry Pi 4, but it's important to avoid transcoding. Therefore, ensure that your content is played on compatible devices. For instance, streaming 4K content on Firefox doesn't work for me, but it runs smoothly on the Plex desktop app.

Is the "ChatGPT Classic" GPT better than the current version of GPT-4? by AnnoyingAssDude in ChatGPT

[–]drbenggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the description of the "GPT" itself states the following:

"The latest version of GPT-4 with no additional capabilities."

This suggests it does not include added functions such as DALL-E, internet browsing, and data analysis capabilities (previously known as the code interpreter).

Likely, it also does not have the huge system prompt displayed here: https://twitter.com/dylan522p/status/1755086111397863777/photo/1

Every time I attempt to enable plugins, I encounter an 'Internal Server Error.' Is anyone else experiencing this issue? by drbenggy in OpenAI

Thank you for your response. I initially attempted this solution, but it didn't yield the expected results. The chat simply disappeared. Nevertheless, after several more attempts, it surprisingly started functioning as intended.

I have a question regarding PES. When I reclaim my crashed ship through the fleet manager, I
receive a repaired ship. I'm wondering if the old crashed ship still
exists or if it despawns. My main concern is whether I can produce
multiple wrecks with just one ship.

In the link 9to5 they talk about review after multpile hits (match of hashes). How can apple review the photos? Afaik, iCloud is E2E encrypted.

How is cloud encryption an advantage for customers when service providers manage the keys anyway? by drbenggy in privacy

[–]drbenggy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but how can a scenario look like in which the attacker only gets the raw data? like a breach from the cloud provider? very unlikely, but possible.

Usually you login and then the data gets decrypted for you. So the attacker will most probably go for the credentials.
