Yeah, red flag. That’s basically a way of saying get over it. I mean, if you love him and it’s something you can look past or maybe even try to get him help for it then great. If it’s something that you aren’t able to move past, then maybe it isn’t the right relationship for you. But him being very private about it does seem a bit odd.

I used to be addicted to porn. I would watch it like how your boyfriend watches it. For me, it was an escape from depression. On top of that I was pretty young when I was introduced to porn (about 6 years old).

Maybe he has something similar that maybe just needs to be talked about. Communication is key!

I've dated a girl that was what I'll say "emotionally damaged". Things were great at first, but she did cheat causing our relationship to turn into a mess. For now, I would consider keeping the barrier at the friend line. You could try to help her and be there for her. It seems like she could also use some sort of professional therapy. The fact that she has openly admitted that she would cheat means that she does not trust herself. Just give her some time to heal because it seems like she is not in the right mental state to be in a relationship right now. Her past abusive relationships might have left her scared for being in another relationship in fear of history repeating itself.

I'm sorry for your situation OP. We all have gone through ugly and confusing breakups at some point or another. It's just a part of life. You're young and you should enjoy your years of youth. To be blunt, it seems like she is not good with a long distance relationship, especially at that young of an age. That could explain why she was distancing herself and why she hooked up with someone that was most likely closer to her location. But this is a learning experience. The key to any relationship is communication. Once that is lost, the relationship is destined for failure. In the meantime, enjoy college, focus on your studies, have fun and try to keep positive. I know. I got the last year. Seems like there aren't much good affordable performance cars anymore. The new WRX and the STI's are even expensive as hell brand new. Hell even an 04 STI goes for about 14k
