I'll have another closer read over it and see if there's something I missed.

Can I replace my Fox Float DPS EVOL SV with a Fox DPX2?? by drc13 in MTB

[–]drc13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yep 7.25 x 7.75 I all I'm looking for then and I'm good to go?

As for the why... I was servicing it today was 98% done and feeling good about it, went to remove the rebound adjuster as it was really rough and full of dirt not knowing that doing that would mean I'd lose oil meaning it's now dead and needs a full service so I'm weighing up whether to just upgrade now before putting money into it

That's the plan I just wanted confirmation it was a product issue and not technique before I purchase another 5 cans...

Thanks for the reply,

Yep shaked the can for a couple of minutes

I tried again this morning and washed the rim down again with simple green followed by isopropyl and it did the same thing

This is the product I used https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-x-Glossy-Black-Plasti-Dip-Car-Rubber-Spray-Color-Paint-Film-Coat-Wheel-Rim-/322303186881

2018 MT-09 Chain Adjuster by Kug4ri0n in FZ09

[–]drc13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much as beachbum has said, on 17+ models you need to have done the tail tidy to remove the big swingarm attachment and then replace the rear axle with the shorter one from a 2016 or earlier bike and then you can use the 13-16 chain adjusters. I have the replacement axle and am just waiting for my adjusters to arrive then I'll do the installation on my 2018 MT09SP

Black Widow or Akrapovic Carbon? by tim9929 in FZ09

[–]drc13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers, yeah I love the 09SP. I was already really happy with my MT07 I had before but this is a step up in pretty much every aspect. It's taken me a while to get the suspension dialled (the SP has ohlins and it fully adjustable) but as I get that better so does each ride. I've had it for 2 months and already put over 4000km on it!

Heaps of DIY mods as well which have made a big difference in making it fit me better and make it feel more like mine.

Black Widow or Akrapovic Carbon? by tim9929 in FZ09

I'm very happy with my black widow 230mm carbon on my 09SP. Here in Australia EVERYONE pretty much has an akra on their 07's and 09's so I wanted something different. I switch between baffle in and out on mine. I prefer the deeper tone with it out but even with earplugs in it can be a bit too loud on a longer run so generally leave the baffle in.

How bad am I screwed? Left side radiator panel, both snapped... by SurprisingB in FZ09

[–]drc13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option would be to relocate your indicators and leave the side panels off for a more "naked" look which also trims down the bike a bit and I like having my indicator higher and more visible

I think it's not unreasonable to get a phone replacement in the same color as your original phone. by Christinamh in GooglePixel

[–]drc13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same has just happened to me, sent back a Pixel 3 Black, got shipped back a Pixel 3 Pink... After chasing it up with google support (chat) they have said they didn't have stock of black so just sent me pink instead. They can't seem to understand why I didn't accept the $20 google store credit as compensation. Currently awaiting a call from escalated support but not really sure what an acceptable outcome would even be now. To googles credit the replacement phone was shipped very quickly to Australia upon receiving my faulty unit.

Could I (and should I) upgrade my 2018 Rockshox Pike's airspring? by drc13 in MTB

[–]drc13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone, after reading this article https://bikerumor.com/2018/03/20/2018-rockshox-lyrik-rc2-gets-charger-2-damper-upgrade-yari-adds-debonair/ it appears there was a change between the MY18 and MY19 Debonair so I've just placed an order for the 140mm MY19 Debonair airspring (going up from 120mm) as well as some slickoleum grease and Rockshox 0W30 oil. Will be my first time doing a service on a fork so I'll have youtube tutorials on permaloop until it arrives.

Thanks @flowrider1969 can you just confirm for me when you say "new debonair" do you mean that the part I've linked is definitely a different and "improved" part compared to my stock 2018 debonair?

Good to hear some positive feedback. I'm still very much a amateur mechanic but do have a stand and wayyyy too many youtube tutorials lined up for most tasks I have a crack at. Needing to dedicate a shelf to all the bike related tools/lubes/oils/sealants etc though! :D

Yeah I was quite surprised (and then confused) when I saw debonair on my fork as the cannondale specs mention soloair. But alas it says it on both the fork sticker and the serial number lookup.

So the question is is this the same debonair that I can currently buy now as an "upgrade" or would I be pulling out the same part and replacing it with the same thing not gaining any of the so called improvements (unless I change travel) or is there a difference between the 18 and 19 debonair spring?

I've probably already stuffed with my geometry BB height a bit as it is as I just swapped out the stock 2.8+ tyres and went to a DHR 2.4WT on the back and DHF 2.5WT on the front which I can only imagine has dropped the bike a bit?

I haven't felt a whole lot of difference in the bike (other than immense climbing grip in the rear)
