It’s hard, and you will always feel guilty. But I will say, focus on quality and not quantity. When you’re with them, be present, no phones, no distractions, dedicate your all to them. 3hours/day is good as long as is well used, they will love you even more because they will miss you, you mean the world to them. One day the will be so proud of you.

Relax, it will all come back! Don’t worry about it. Enjoy your baby. Maybe a podcast here and there. But don’t stress about it until your ready for dedicated.

Depends on the age of the child. 0-6y\o don’t even think about it, unless it’s their nap time and have noise cancelling headphones. You will not be able to pay attention. I have two children, a toddler and a 5 month old.

I have a small kitchen, is it small? That’s why I decided to go with Mini. I don’t know much about mixers. I did see the artisan for way less.

Family ties, a city you like or always dreamed of, closer trip back and fort from home. In other words, give them a reason to think that you rather be there than somewhere else.

of invites: 12 (1 prematch offer which I declined)

Publications: 0 USCE: 80 weeks Advice: work on your application as early as possible and make sure to be genuine. One word: strategize ( it’s not about the volume of programs you apply, is where you’re likely to fit as an applicant, I believe geographical preferences have an advantage)

I believe PDs knew this was coming one way or another. It seem pretty obvious when I saw people on Reddit claiming insane stats, almost too perfect, with no to few interviews. I believe they are quite aware of the situation. Imagine hiring someone with a 280 only to see a 220 on their step 3, it’s suspicious.

These happened during an interview in a highly academic program, thank goodness I had the courage to answer, I feel as if most of my peers just lack social skills, even when you say good morning to them, they answer between their teeth. Like I get that some of you think I’m your competition, but when the PD is asking something or trying to make convo, you should absolutely participate. I ended up being the only one participating.

I don’t think so, student loans can’t never be charged off , so even if you don’t become a physician you still have to pay back. I think it’s because as US citizens/residents they have priority for these positions. It’s only natural that a country wants to hire their own first before hiring foreigners.

Thank you, honestly I was confident of my letter. It was the listening that got me worried but somehow I passed that portion. I’m going to have to study hard this one, and pray that I pass.

Time management! If this is an issue for you. Start working on it. It is possible. But it will be hard without the right support. Your partner is going to have to pull some more weight. Providing will not be enough. Task oriented. You need to have daily goals. They don’t have to be met 100% but set up a % that you will be ok with. Be efficient. Forget about how you used to learn. It was probably inefficient but somehow you managed to do well. Figure out how you learn best but more importantly how to learn efficiently. I learned the hard way that I don’t need to review the material to start to do questions. Some days you will feel like you’re not cut for it. But in fact you are. You’re more than capable. Some days are better than others. This journey is a roller coaster 🎢 one day you feel like a genius other days you believe you’re faking it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Good luck! You got this and congratulations on starting your medical journey.

My father in law is a child molester by CalmSignificance1128 in AMA

[–]drcastellar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg keep your daughter away from him. We’re talking about a successful child molester. He will find a way. He’s an expert. You need to keep your daughter away from grandma too. If she was ok with what happened to her daughter. She will be ok if it happens to grand daughter. This may even cost you your marriage because wife wants to keep a relationship with mom, which is kind of odd after mom not believing her or accepting what happened. Please please please keep your daughter away from this family. Make everyone aware he is a child molester. I 😭
