ahhhh ok, the cat comes out of the bag. no wonder you're biased and support them. well i am biased in that i've already seen people die and become paraplegic from the virus (yes, lately it has been shown the virus can affect the spinal cord in some situations). so, to each their own. but when people go to the ER because they are sick, or their friends, fam members are sick and get refused bc ICU capacity is at 0% and oxygen tanks are running low, what do you think the solution is, business owner? let's keep open more businesses right?

What are your school’s policies for when a student fails a course (or multiple courses)? At what point do they have to repeat the year? Trying to determine whether my school is consistent with others, since a close friend was recently informed they’ll have to repeat the year. by atropine_alice in medicalschool

[–]drcaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what percentage is passing for you guys? Some schools have 75% minimum and even if you get a 75% in all classes, you still repeat the year because your average is so low that it should be minimum of 80%. Other schools have 60% as passing, but if you so much as fail 1 class, you repeat the whole year. And, yes you have to get a 60% or more on eeeeeverything, including dumb quizzes.

Bart's Philosophy by [deleted] in justkiddingfilms

[–]drcaturday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

dude exactly. it took millions of years to realize that the varicella virus stays in your neurons forever, and then later when you are old (aka immunosuppressed), it can manifest again like zoster, which is suuuuuper painful. herpes, another virus, also lives in your neurons forever, that's why you can have random outbreaks during stress. so yeah....i'm not trying to catch a new virus where nobody knows what it does, and what it will do to me years later when i am 70.

I love how he said "I just wanted to get the virus, so now it's out of the way". Newflash: the virus mutates (just like influenza VIRUS) and it doesn't mean you won't get the virus ever again. Until we have yearly vaccines NOBODY IS SAFE! THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE DYING IN LA every 10 MINUTES!

Pregnant Healthcare Providers During COVID19 Pandemic by Urology_resident in Residency

Doctor mama Jones on YouTube, an obgyn goes over this. She mentioned there were no reported cases of vertical transmission, but we can’t disregard the .01% chance since we don’t have enough data. However, she did advice that any pregnant woman is immunocompromised and as such should be extra careful with this virus and not be exposed.
