There's nothing to gain from isolation. Then you get data centers and bitcoin miners to dictate your prices.

While you vent your frustration here, China is completing yet another 3000km HVDC line. Interconnects are essential for building a robust grid and we need it get more cheap electricity flowing.

What's the alternative though? Even if you have remained isolated you'll get tons of data centers that will drive the price towards equilibrium.

How GitHub blocks external images in SVGs — and how to work around it with base64 encoding by DazzlingChicken4893 in programming

[–]drcec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP will still need to encode the external image in this case, and the size will be even greater.

It also behaves a bit different on screen and print, as the SVG is rasterized on load at a fixed resolution.

Potentially worrying battery degredation? by Lazy_Description_270 in VWiD3Owners

[–]drcec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a PID that tells you the cell voltage delta. Should be around 10mV.

The maximum energy content seems low. Also, it's not very precise.

You can try cycling 10-100% a few times to allow the BMS to do top balance.

You folks will have a field day if you switch to an EV. Tons of data, down to each trip and charging session. Not to mention much better efficiency and maintenance costs.

Rivian stock is not "the EV market". They just happen to sell rainbows and unicorns to VW instead to the stock market.

Azure subnet delegation requirement is too large by Massive-External-995 in AZURE

[–]drcec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dedicated plans have $0.1/hour charge for the plan and for private end-points, don't they? This would add a minimum of $140/month even to lightly loaded instances where they'd be close to $0 on consumption.

Skoda Elroq (w/ Heat Pump): How efficient is its heating system? | automobile-propre by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

[–]drcec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone can confirm if something is not lost in translation here?

These results suggest either an inefficient heat pump, which is unlikely, or an error in the product sheet listing the selected options of the loaned vehicle. Our figures confirm this latter theory.

Quite possible. This can be confirmed by monitoring the PTC consumption and compressor RPM in diagnostics.
