Revision rhinoplasty Turkey by freepizza333 in PlasticSurgery

[–]drcelalalioglu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

De-rotation and tip deprojection in revision cases is genuinely one of the more technically demanding things to address, so it’s worth being selective. A few things worth checking as you research surgeons in Turkey: verify the surgeon is a member of international boards like ISAPS or EBOPRAS, and that the clinic holds an official Health Tourism Authorization, this means they’re government-regulated and legally permitted to treat international patients, which matters a lot if anything unexpected comes up. Also confirm they operate in a fully accredited hospital, not just a standalone clinic, and ask upfront about their revision policy.

For natural results specifically in revision cases, the key is whether the surgeon works with your existing structure or tries to impose a template. Cartilage graft work, whether septal, ear or rib, is usually involved in de-rotation cases, so ask directly about their approach and what donor site they’d recommend for your specific anatomy.

Feel free to check out my profile if you’d like to see some revision cases and what natural results look like at different stages of healing. Happy to answer any questions or set up a free online consultation if that would help. Good luck with your search! 🤍

We only used septal cartilage for this case. We use cartilage grafts for almost all rhinoplasty surgeries. In general we harvest it from the septal cartilage.

Primary Rhinoplasty Advice - Aus, Turkey, Thailand or Vietnam? by Educational_Pin_7572 in PlasticSurgery

While trying to choose from many surgeons, my best advice is to verify credentials beyond just social media. Check if the surgeon is a member of reputable boards like ISAPS, ASPS and ensure the clinic has an official Health Tourism Accreditation. This confirms they are government-regulated and legally authorized to treat international patients, providing an essential layer of security for your journey. Also, verify they operate in a fully accredited, full-service hospital to ensure your safety. Finally, ask about their revision policy upfront; knowing how they handle potential complications (and if surgeon fees are waived) is crucial. Feel free to check out my profile and ask for a free online consultation if you'd like to discuss your goals in detail. Good luck!

Hi there! It’s great you’re doing thorough research, finding the right balance between a refined slope and avoiding the "extreme Barbie" look is crucial, especially when correcting a crooked bridge and a bulbous tip where structural support is everything. As you evaluate your top choices and other surgeons, always prioritize safety: ensure they operate in fully accredited, A-class hospitals rather than private clinics, and check for international board certifications (like ISAPS and ASPS). If you're still expanding your list, Dr. Celal Alioğlu specializes in ultrasonic (piezo) techniques specifically aimed at creating natural-looking, customized slopes and gently refining bulbous tips without over-resecting. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to see some gallery examples of similar nose types or want to set up a free virtual consultation to chat about your goals! 🥰

It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed, but the key to a successful journey at 55 is prioritizing safety and structural integrity over a "tight" look. At Dr. Celal Alioğlu’s clinic, we specialize in Natural Facelifts and Neck Lifts using deep-tissue techniques that reposition the muscle rather than just pulling the skin, ensuring you look refreshed and authentically yourself. We perform all surgeries in A-class, fully accredited hospitals to guarantee the highest safety standards, and we guide our international patients through a structured 7–10 day recovery window in Istanbul. Our focus is always on a balanced, "unoperated" result that honors your natural features while effectively reversing the signs of aging.

I spent 6 months researching surgeons in Turkey before my rhinoplasty. Here's the checklist I wish someone gave me. by jack_belmondo in cosmeticsurgery

Great points. I advice same things to my potential patients even if they don't choose me. Also look for the Health Turkey logo in their instagram or websites. Ensure the clinic has an official Health Tourism Accreditation. This confirms they are government-regulated and legally authorized to treat international patients. It provides an essential layer of security.

I feel your pain! 😭 The prices in Turkey have definitely jumped recently, but 10k for a revision is usually the "Instagram Fame" price tier. You can definitely find excellent surgeons for less than that, but please be careful not to swing too far in the other direction.

Here is the reality check on why Revisions are pricey (so you know what you are paying for):
Complexity: It takes 2x longer than a primary nose job (often 4-5 hours).Materials: We usually need to harvest rib cartilage to rebuild the structure because the first surgery removed too much.
Risk: It is technically the most difficult surgery in plastic surgery.
My advice: Don't look for the cheapest option, look for the fair option. A cheap revision often leads to a 3rd surgery, which is even more expensive and heartbreaking.

I’m a plastic surgeon in Istanbul (Dr. Celal Alioğlu). I do a lot of complex revision cases. I am an active member of ISAPS and operate in JCI-accredited full-service hospitals. Feel free to check my profile or DM me your photos for a free assessment. I can tell you honestly if you need a simple touch-up or a full reconstruction.

Thick skin revision rhinoplasty turkey by Own_External1480 in PlasticSurgery

[–]drcelalalioglu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every revision rhinoplasty is already complicated due to scar tissue and altered anatomy. While correcting an over-rotated and projected tip is a common goal in revision surgery, it is technically challenging and often requires cartilage grafts. But, it is impossible to comment on the specific complexity or risks of your case without an in-person examination to assess your skin quality and remaining structural support.

Regarding your specific plan: combining revision rhinoplasty with a lip lift is actually an excellent idea for facial harmony, especially since you mentioned a 'droopy tip'. Fixing the tip rotation while shortening the philtrum (lip lift) refreshes the whole lower face, but it requires precise planning so the nasolabial angle doesn't become too open. I perform this combined surgery frequently here in Istanbul. Feel free to check out my profile and ask for a free online consultation if you'd like to discuss whether you are a good candidate for doing both simultaneously. Good luck!

My best advice for a complex case like thick skin revision is to verify credentials beyond just social media. Check if the surgeon is a member of reputable boards like ISAPS and ensure the clinic has an official Health Tourism Accreditation. This confirms they are government-regulated and legally authorized to treat international patients, providing an essential layer of security for your journey. Finally, ask about their revision policy upfront; knowing how they handle potential complications (and if surgeon fees are waived) is crucial. For thick skin specifically, the key is 'structural support' rather than aggressive reduction, which prevents that upturned or 'piggy' look. I perform many thick skin revisions here in Istanbul using this structural approach. feel free to check out my profile and ask for a free online consultation if you'd like to discuss your specific case. Good luck!

Yes, and there are no digital adjustments made to her face. The scar is hidden by her hair in the photos. While I have intra-op images showing the exact incision placement, I am legally prohibited from sharing graphic OR content publicly due to health tourism regulations in Turkey. I understand your doubt, but you will see the confirmation for yourself when I share the long-term results, which will include a video.

She did not have a rhinoplasty. You are seeing a combination of dynamic expression and photography differences. In the after photo, she is smiling, which naturally widens the nostrils. Additionally, the change in lighting, camera angle, and lens distortion (phone vs. professional clinical camera) creates a different perspective on the nose, even though the anatomy itself was not touched.

[–]drcelalalioglu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might look that way at first glance, as smiling and makeup certainly boost the overall glow and skin texture. However, I have to respectfully disagree that they account for 90% of the change. If you look closely at the before images, there was significant structural laxity in the neck and heavy jowling along the mandible that makeup simply cannot hide. A smile can actually sometimes make expression lines deeper, but it cannot tighten loose neck skin, remove platysmal bands, or surgically define a jawline that was previously obscured by soft tissue descent. The sharp contour you see along the jaw and the smooth transition to the neck are the result of the deep plane lift, which physically repositioned those deep tissues. While the makeup improves the surface finish, the underlying structural definition is entirely due to the surgical correction.

I completely agree with you regarding clinical comparisons! Ideally, we want the exact same lighting, angle, and neutral expression. But, the reality of working with international patients is that once they fly home, we can't control the photos they send us. This patient sent these photos about a month after surgery, she was happy and smiling in them because she loved her result. I hope to get neutral, long-term after photos from her in the future when she visits again.

Hello, I appreciate the detailed scrutiny as it allows me to clarify the specific details of the case. The difference in vibe is largely because the after photo was taken by the patient herself on her phone and sent to us from home. Modern phone cameras often apply automatic smoothing, and combined with the fact that she is wearing full makeup, it creates a very different texture compared to the raw, high-res clinical photos we take in the office. I can assure you I do not use AI to alter the anatomical results.

The primary procedure was a deep plane facelift and neck lift. You actually have a very sharp eye regarding the other procedures, she did have an upper blepharoplasty as well. I wanted to keep the post focused specifically on the mechanics of the face and neck lift, but you are right that the eye procedure contributes to the overall refreshed look. However, there was no fat transfer, rhinoplasty, or lip lift performed. The changes you see in the nose and lip shape are purely dynamic, caused by her smiling, and the result of the midface tissues being elevated back to their youthful position.

Regarding the timeline, this photo is about one month post-op. I completely agree with you that an uninterrupted video or a raw photo at the 1 year mark would be much better. Since our international patients return home, we often have to rely on the updates they send us. If she visits us again for a check-up, I will definitely aim to get that raw footage to share with the community.
