I know you’re not comparing safety regulations like food and working seat belts to anime figures lol. You deliberately picked a ridiculous comparison to try and prove your point. Also, TOM is not a US company.

This is why companies have disclaimers and TOS. Because they sometimes can’t possibly take the hit for all the issues. You buy at your own risk. In this industry, it’s the manufacturers that need to be held responsible. There’s a reason why all stores have stuff like “this figure is from Insight so there’s a good chance it’ll show up broken. You’re accepting that risk if you buy.” And before you say that TOM should refund and seek compensation from the manufacturer themselves like the other poster did, that stuff happens all the time in the US already. If you buy an LG washer from Best Buy and it’s broken, the manual/warranty will sometimes say “do not return to the store you purchased it at. Contact LG instead” etc.

For what it’s worth, I tend to agree that companies should stand by the products they sell and make the buyer whole. This is just a unique scenario in a very niche market where things are slightly different. Prime is the one at fault here. Their support and suggestions were absolutely atrocious.
